FUTURE GENERATIONS Campaign
FUTURE GENERATIONS Campaign Fleet Optimization Fund $12,000,000 A new generation of aircraft ... to ACCELERATE the next generation of ministry One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. —Psalm 145:4 Five New Aircraft: A Each airplane has its purpose The pressing need MAF-US operates a robust fleet of 53 small, nimble airplanes, consisting of 10 different models. These airplanes land on short, rugged airstrips in some of the most remote and difficult-to-access regions of the world. At any given time in the 70 years of MAF’s history, there has been a need to renew and revitalize the fleet. Right now, the need for new aircraft is particularly pressing. • Several veteran MAF airplanes are fast wearing out, even as the needs of the people around them are accelerating. Each MAF airplane is destined to fulfill a specific purpose for a specific season. By the time it completes the span of its useful life—usually after several decades—countless individuals and communities will have been impacted by access to life-sustaining goods and services, improved healthcare and education, evangelism, discipleship, and Bible translation. The love of Jesus reaches one generation to the next. It’s time for these new MAF aircraft to rise up and serve this generation. CESSNA GRAND CARAVAN • Older airplanes demand an increasing burden of maintenance. This has a direct negative impact on ministry as … – Airplanes are not available to serve. – Pilot/mechanics spend valuable flying time fixing the airplanes. – The growing cost of maintenance and upkeep diverts financial resources from meeting the physical and spiritual needs of isolated people. • Additional types of airplanes may be needed in areas of the world where new models of ministry are forming. • Avgas (aviation gasoline), which has been used for years in MAF’s older aircraft, has become increasingly expensive and difficult to obtain. Replacing older aircraft with the appropriate non avgas-dependent aircraft is a critical priority. QUEST KODIAK A Generation Awaits The next priority The Fleet Optimization Fund is a vital component of MAF’s Future Generations Campaign. Its goal is to secure the purchase of five new airplanes. Please see the one-page insert to learn about the next fleet optimization priority. It’s time for these five new MAF aircraft to rise up and serve this generation. In locations all around the world—representing a diversity of situations, cultures, and needs—a generation awaits. Will you help ensure that the next suitable aircraft reaches its destination as soon as possible? MAF chooses an airplane based on the best fit for the people it will serve. With each model, several factors are considered: What types of airstrips will it use? Does it burn fuel that will be cost-efficient and readily available? What distances will it fly? What kinds of loads will it carry? In short, will it be the right choice for its intended ministry? We utilize funds wisely and prayerfully, recognizing that factors such as fluctuating costs and funding received may cause a shift in aircraft priorities. Once a preferred aircraft has been funded, it is MAF policy to apply remaining restricted funds toward the next most-needed plane. Are YOU called to partner with MAF for the next generation? There is no question. The need for new aircraft is URGENT. Without new aircraft, current ministry will suffer. Future ministry will be compromised. But with them, the legacy of past generations will flourish as the Gospel continues to transform lives in this generation … and the next … and the next … 5 New Aircraft: $12,000,000 Impact on Future Generations: Incalculable HERE’S HOW YOU CAN PARTNER WITH MAF: • Pray with us that God will provide the necessary aircraft to impact people with the love of Jesus for generations to come. • Ask the Lord what financial role He might have for you in the funding of these new aircraft. • Engage with a representative from MAF (phone: 208-498-0784).
