The Great Shift Gathering
The Great Shift Gathering October 22nd to 26th 2009 in Perpignan France Catalyzing the Second Renaissance In the next decade we will be challenged as never before as individuals, professionals and in our organizations. The convergent economic, ecological and cultural crises we are in mark the beginning of a great shift in our economy, culture and biosphere. Are you ready for what comes next? Between October 22nd and 26th 2009, Renaissance2 is holding the “Great Shift Gathering” following our highly successful Great Shift Partner Event in June 2009. Join in an ongoing conversation with living legends such as Barbara Marx Hubbard, Michael Braungart, Ervin Laszlo, Don Beck, Andrew Cohen and Neale Donald Walsch. We will also be launching the groundbreaking Worldshift Alliance on 26 October. This is your personal invitation to attend one or both of the two ground breaking events which comprise the Great Shift Gathering: Event 1: Designing a Resilient Civilization- 22-24 October At this event we will continue to prototype the new models which form the basis of Capitalism 2.0, while launching new projects that help accelerate their adoption. Join some of the world’s leading innovators who are already doing pioneering work in the R2 Innovation Crucibles: o transforming the world of renewable energy, including solar, wind and electric powered transport; o creating resilient environments including urban, industrial and service habitats around the world, using cradle-to-cradle and integral approaches; o developing enlightened enterprises driving social innovation and accelerating human and social development around the globe; o making the connections which enable new forms of integral governance systems to align the efforts of business, government, NGO’s and communities. Event 2: Conscious Evolution- 25-26 October Conscious Evolution enables us to use our creative power to guide our own lives and the evolution of the systems and the communities in which we live and work. It is a process by which individuals and groups, families, organizations, and societies can envision and create images of what should be, and bring those images to life by design. Living legends such as Barbara Marx Hubbard, Don Beck, Andrew Cohen and Neale Donald Walsch will be joining us along with a host of experts on human cultural and spiritual development to map out the way ahead, and highlight what we can each do to shift ourselves, our organizations, families and communities in: o Developing ourselves to the next level of conscious creative power in our own lives; o Developing our communities and organizations to co-create aligned collectively intelligent human systems. “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” Buckminster Fuller The Great Shift Gathering October 22nd to 26th 2009 in Perpignan France Agenda: Designing a Resilient Civilization- 22-24 October Key Features & Benefits The Great Shift Gathering is about action! So rather than creating a conference where participants simply sit, mingle and consume information, our process capitalizes on all the bright minds joining us to co-create the next steps for themselves, their organizations and R2. We have created a flow designed to build the platform for both your and R2's impact on and service to the world. We will follow an Appreciative Inquiry inspired process, where each day starts with key speakers in the four innovation crucibles setting the stage, giving the entire gathering the essence of their speciality in a concise talk or panel session. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to attend inspiring panel sessions, including 15-20 minute speeches plus questions and discussion. Each panel will be moderated by a moderator who will guide the overall process and timing of the session. The panel discussions will then lead into work in tracks where we have a closer look at the different crucibles. In the working groups, we will move through a process of Dream: drawing a picture of inspiring 2020 scenarios Design: comparing the 2020 scenarios to what is happening now and what needs to be done by the members of R2 to contribute to achieving the vision • Deliver: Action planning and next steps to Developing the capabilities and becoming a role model in R2 Additionally, we will hear success stories of what is already working to learn from and build on. The perfect mindset during the Gathering is a mix of curiosity, urgency and active creation. • • “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. We will do this by engaging with global thought leaders through short talks and panel sessions followed by experiential learning around specific practices to accelerate conscious evolution in small groups. Our experienced facilitators will demonstrate these practices and support participants in their exploration of and learning about how they can benefit from their use during the fun and enlightening conscious evolution experiences and practice sessions. Our experience of the methods we are using in the Great Shift Gathering is that they generate a powerful form of collective intelligence which enables amazing things to happen both in the smaller breakout sessions as well as in the plenary gatherings. At a personal level you will have the opportunity to experience energizing, joyful connections with the other participants. The Second Renaissance Cultural Explosion on the evening of day 1 will provide all of us with the opportunity to “let it all hang loose” with a party atmosphere prevailing as we explore the possibilities of cultural fusion through music and spontaneous entertainment including performances by speakers, facilitators and organizers as we celebrate the emergence of worldcentric human consciousness. “You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
