Chichester has produced more Roman statues
and pieces of inscription than any other town in
Britain, and yet the possible reasons for this are
rarely considered. In this talk at The Novium
Museum, Dr Miles Russell will look at the
impressive collection of Roman stone and bronze
work recovered from Chichester District over the
past 300 years in order try and understand what
was going on in this remote part of the Roman
Empire and what possible role the emperors of
Rome had in its development of the town. £5 per
person. Tickets available from The Novium.
Visit thenovium.org for more information.
