ORNAMENTAL GRASSES: r t p Urban Prairies
another urban planting solution from r t p
We have selected a range of r t p ornamental
grasses to bring the ‘prairie’ into the urban
landscape. These are reliable varieties and
available from our current commercial production.
With their widely varied forms ranging from
strong vertical clumps and eye-catching plumes
to dense ground hugging mounds, grasses
are an exciting and valuable range of plants.
They bring life and movement, flowing gracefully
in the slightest breeze and soften plantings with
their fine foliage. We believe that you will find
these r t p selected varieties very useful and many
are tolerant of dry conditions once established.
Grasses are generally low maintenance and many
offer winter interest with colourful foliage and
flower heads. Deciduous varieties like Miscanthus
and Panicum should be cut back hard in February
before new growth starts.
The r t p urban prairie grasses are produced
at our nurseries to Spec21 requirements.
The full Spec21 data is available with this range.
Peat reduced compost, 12-14 months slow release
fertiliser and systemic pest control is standard as
with all plants.
Plants are our business, we are here to help.
