Cultural notes: Full sun. Adaptable but prefers moisture retentive soil. Sterile so will not
seed about. European native – minimum maintenance.

grasses to bring the ‘prairie’ into the urban

are an exciting and valuable range of plants.
They bring life and movement, flowing gracefully
in the slightest breeze and soften plantings with

are tolerant of dry conditions once established.
Grasses are generally low maintenance and many
offer winter interest with colourful foliage and
flower heads. Deciduous varieties like Miscanthus
and Panicum should be cut back hard in February
before new growth starts.
