Decoupage - York Minster
Decoupage Ages 3+ with adult help In Victorian times decoupage was a popular craft. Practically anything can be covered with decoupage. These baubles are a great way to use up bits of wrapping paper and you can use cuttings from magazines too.You can make your baubles as traditional or as funky as you like! You will need: Some inexpensive baubles for base Tissue paper Scraps of Christmas wrapping paper, cuttings from magazines, catalogues etc. PVA glue Glue brush Newspaper to cover surface Instructions: Take one of the baubles and cover it with PVA glue. Cover the bauble with pieces of tissue paper. Let this layer dry. Take one scrap of wrapping paper or magazine cutting and paste onto the bauble with the glue. Take your next piece and overlap the last one when you paste it down. Carry on pasting your scraps down, overlapping each time, so that no tissue paper can be seen. When you’ve completely covered it, let your decoupage bauble dry. Then you can coat it all over with PVA glue. Let this layer dry and you have finished! Why not come along to one of our Christmas activities over the holidays? christmas.yorkminster.org
