CONFIDENCE IN ANY SITUATION.
A car’s driving characteristics are influenced by many factors: road and weather conditions, and of course the individual preferences of the driver. The driveline and chassis
technology in the new Volkswagen CC ensures a constantly high level of driving enjoyment despite all the variables involved.
Optional ADAPTIVE CHASSIS CONTROL DCC. The system makes it possible to fine tune
the interplay between damping and steering and to constantly and automatically adapt
them to the driving situation – placing emphasis on either dynamic or comfortable driving characteristics, depending on your own wishes or on what the circumstances require
in any given situation. You can choose between three basic settings at the touch of a button: in “SPORT” mode, damping is stiffer and steering characteristics adapted accordingly – making the vehicle noticeably more agile. In “COMFORT” mode, you enjoy comfort
comparable with that of a luxury saloon. Whichever mode is selected, DCC also adapts
the damping adjustment automatically. To this end, a control unit uses sensor data and
other information – for instance from the steering, brake system and driver assistance
systems – to compute the ideal damping settings for each wheel. This can help to

enhance driving safety, during fast lane changes, for example, or when driving on
bumpy surfaces.
MOTION ALL-WHEEL DRIVE. In conjunction with the -cylinder engine, power is transferred to all four wheels as required. Should there be a risk of a wheel losing grip,
engine power is immediately distributed to the other axle. This improves traction, especially in adverse weather conditions or on loose road surfaces. The vehicle has more
reliable acceleration, greater cornering stability and is less susceptible to crosswinds on
stretches of motorway.
ELECTRONIC DIFFERENTIAL LOCK XDS. This system is standard in higher output models.
During fast cornering, precise brake pressure is built up on the inner front wheel on
bends to avoid wheelspin, improve traction and reduce the tendency to understeer. This
results in even greater directional stability and more dynamic cornering behaviour.

ENGINES OF
PROGRESS.
Low displacement petrol engines with turbocharging; diesel engines with turbo and common rail technology;
and a dual clutch gearbox. These drive technologies are fitted in many cars nowadays – but they are on home
ground in Volkswagen vehicles.
TDI DIESEL ENGINES. TDI – with these three letters
Volkswagen once made diesel technology generally
acceptable. Thanks to turbocharging, the engines
are amazingly powerful. In addition, they are
equipped with common rail direct diesel injection
whereby fuel is injected under high pressure directly
into the combustion chamber for optimal engine
efficiency and significantly smoother running.
TSI PETROL ENGINES. In line with the groundbreaking downsizing principle, our engineers have developed a high efficiency technology package. The
combination of low cubic capacity, intelligent turbocharging and precise direct injection assures exceptionally even development of power as maximum
torque is available right from low engine speeds.
This noticeably reduces both fuel consumption and
the noise level. The TSI engines are available in
two output categories.
V PETROL ENGINE*. The supremely quiet running
characteristics of a -cylinder engine and up-todate direct injection are hallmarks of the most
powerful engine in the new Volkswagen CC. For
optimum traction and directional stability, its power
is brought onto the road by MOTION. The dual

clutch gearbox DSG is also included in the standard
specification.
DUAL CLUTCH GEARBOX DSG. In contrast to conventional automatic gearboxes, it changes gear
without interruption of pulling power. Two partial
gearboxes which are independent of one another
make it possible to engage the next gear prior to the
actual gear-changing process. As a result, gears are
changed almost imperceptibly which, in turn,
increases ride comfort. You have the choice of
normal or sports mode so that the gearbox is optimally matched to your personal driving style. In
sports mode, gears are changed up later and
changed down sooner. For an even more dynamic
style of driving, gears can be changed manually
using the selector lever or, as an option, via the
multifunction steering wheel. In conjunction with a
diesel engine, the dual clutch gearbox has a coasting function: when the accelerator pedal is released,
the engine is temporarily automatically disengaged.
Depending on driving style, this can save up to

Diesel models are equipped with the comprehensive BlueMotion
Technology package as standard. This includes a start/stop system
and – as is also the case when combined with a TSI petrol engine –
a gear recommendation, tyres with lower rolling resistance, and
regenerative braking. // When the engine is idling, for example at red traffic lights, the engine is switched off automatically by
the “START/STOP SYSTEM” – and is switched on again as soon as
you operate the clutch. The system can be deactivated at the touch
of a button. // The “MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAY” supplies information on current and average fuel consumption, and shows you
the optimum gear for economical driving.
