Accreditation will be done via this system and team leaders can pay for registrations, request accreditation & special information, reserve meal plans and book entertainment packages. In order to register your team you must be prepared to submit electronic biographies and upload electronic photos for all team members. Accreditation passes with photo I.D. will be required to access the venue beginning 17 September 2014. Deadline for accreditation: 04 September 2014. Accreditations processed after this date will incur a $40.00 U.S. processing fee. Accreditation Fee is $150.00 U.S. per Athlete, Team Leader, Technical Staff, Medical Staff, Team Assistants or anyone requesting formal accreditation for access to the venue. A bib deposit of $20 per competitor will be processed and refunded upon return of practice bibs. Accreditation Fees are accepted via credit card, wire transfer and cash onsite. The area is adjacent to Deep Creek Lake with over 100 kilometers of shoreline. In September the average high temperature is 21 Celsius and the low is 10 Celsius. Electricity 125 volt. Time Zone: McHenry MD is on Eastern Daylight Savings Time (GMT – 5) Medical Insurance: All participants should ensure coverage in the United States for out of the ordinary medical and emergency coverage. Organizing committee will not cover expenses in conjunction with hospital treatment Doping Control: Doping control will be performed in accordance with ICF antidoping requirements and WADA standards First Aid & Water Safety: Emergency medical services will be on site along with swift water rescue teams during the competition. TRANSPORT AND ACCESS Nearest International Airports Washington, D.C. Dulles (IAD) Baltimore, Maryland (BWI) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PIT) Deep Creek 2014 highly recommends that teams take care when planning travel with boats. Many USA domestic flights will not accommodate boats as luggage. Best to consider boat transport by vehicle after initial international arrival. Getting Here by Vehicle Direct highway access makes McHenry, MD an easy drive from anywhere! Garrett County, Maryland’s westernmost county, is less than a three-hour drive from the metropolitan areas of Washington DC and Baltimore, MD and less than two hours from Pittsburgh, PA. Teams will be granted a limited number of car/parking passes based on the total number of personnel on their team. ATHLETE VILLAGE & LOUNGE: Teams will be provided a team tent in the athlete village suitable for the size of their team. In the lounge area there will be WIFI coverage along with a variety of waters, juices and sodas. Boat Repair will be located in the athlete village. VENUE LAYOUT MAP: For a look at the provisional site layout of the venue go to ASCI Site Plan ATHLETE SERVICES Meal Plans: Because of the location of the venue, we are considering a meal plan for athletes and teams. An athlete meal plan could be available starting with lunch on the 1st day of the competition and running through lunch on the last day of competition. We encourage athletes and team leaders to provide us feedback if interested in the meal plan option through the e-survey: www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZYX9VHM Meal plan costs and other information will then be made available starting 1 April 2014 and can be booked at the time that team leaders register. Fitness Gym and Swimming Pool Access: A fitness/swimming pass for the period of 1-22 September is available for purchase at the Garrett College Community Aquatic Recreation Complex (CARC). This will be available to all athletes and their families. The Cost is $50.00 per person and can be reserved at the same time the team leaders complete registration at deepcreek2014.com. The pass will be paid for onsite upon arrival. Race Ambassador’s Program: Local residents of the McHenry area are volunteering to become “Race Ambassadors”. The ambassadors will be a local point of contact for team leaders and also for the families of competitors to assist with learning about the area, local amenities, and activity options. TICKETING Tickets go on sale 1 March 2014 Deep Creek 2014 will sell all-session admission, all-session parking, and singlesession admission to the World Championships. Admission to all sessions of the event will be by wristband only. Parking for all sessions of the event will be by window decal pass only. Advance all-session wristbands may be purchased—before the event starts— online through the event website, at selected locations throughout the area, and at an official event sales location to be determined. All tickets purchased online will be fulfilled with an e-ticket that must be printed and redeemed at an official event sales location in Deep Creek, MD. Deep Creek 2014 will publish a detailed schedule that will include all times available for e-ticket redemption.
