first about their legal

general legal advice.
• Attorneys form professional
firms and most practice in
partnerships.
• Advocates are briefed by
attorneys when specialist
knowledge is required or a
case is conducted in the
High Court.
• Advocates practice as
individuals and are normally
members of an association
for advocates, called “the
Bar”.
