Public Tender - Highway Rest Area HRA Project in Ghantoot
The Municipality of Abu Dhabi invites submissions
from private sector investors for the first project in
a series of Highway Rest Areas to be tendered. The
first Highway Rest Area will be located in Ghantoot
and is aimed at improving services and amenities for
road users, where there is currently a high volume of
traffic, but limited services to meet demand.
In this regard, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi is pleased to
announce plans to develop a strategic network of Highway Rest
Areas in the capital that will help to provide enhanced amenities
and services for road users and improve road safety on major
highways.
A Municipality masterplan identifies five strategic locations that
will benefit from the improved services. The Highway Rest Areas
will be delivered using private sector investments, through a
build-operate-transfer (BOT) framework model.

Design concepts for the new highway rest areas are based on
similar best practice examples adopted on highways in both
Europe and the US to achieve the highest international standards.
Interested investors who are 100% Emirati with a real estate
development/ investment trading license should visit ADM
