METRO MANILA MAP Economic Indicators NCR Metro Manila’s GDP reached 3,479 billion pesos (78.39 billion USD) in 2011, which took up around 1/3 of Philippine’s GDP. GDP per Capita continued to be the highest in the county at 175,064 pesos (3,944 USD), which was 3 times higher than national average. As the financial, commercial and industrial center of the Philippines, Metro Manila houses many major companies, banks and financial institutes. City of Makati is known as the country’s financial center while City of Manila serves as the seaport center. Metro Manila’s industrial goods are mainly chemicals, textiles, clothing, electronic goods, F&B goods, tobacco products and so on. Major attractions are Intramuros and Fort Santiago, the World Heritage Site of San Agustin Church. Metro Manila is also the Philippines’ shopping hub with a sizeable number of local and international shopping centers. Major shopping districts are Ortigas Center, Bonifacio Global City, and Ayala Center. RETAIL OVERVIEW - MAP MANILA SUBWAY GUIDE MANILA SHOPPING DISTRICT Shopping District Description Major Shopping Malls SM Megamall With an area of at least 100 hectares, the district is located at the boundaries of Pasig, Mandaluyong, and Shangri-‐La Plaza Ortigas Center Quezon City. It is governed by Ortigas Center Association, Inc. Ortigas Center is home to many shopping malls, Robinsons Galleria office and condominium skyscrapers and other building complexes, and nightlife bars and restaurants. The Podium Makati is the financial and economic hub of the metropolitan area and the country. It is a shopping place with Makati Financial and Greenbelt the best and biggest malls offering both international and local brands as well.
