C at i a v 5 E X P O R T i n t er fa ce Tebis – C atia V5: S tructured, reliable tr ansfer of C AD data. Tebis interfaces Tebis CAD modules offer outstanding functions for reverse engineering, surface design, deformation and optimization. If data needs to be delivered in Catia V5 format, a smooth data exchange often plays an important role right from the start when orders are awarded. The Tebis Catia V5 export interface ensures structured, no-loss transfer of data from Tebis to Catia V5. The interface outputs data in the Catia product/part format, which can be created in all possible variants of Catia V5. The Tebis Catia V5 export interface was created for all designers and CAD/CAM users who generate, process and optimize surface data in Tebis, but must deliver the result in Catia V5 format. This interface lets you build typical Catia typical structures quickly and easily, with an automatic function to ensure a V5-conformant structure. Direct data export to Catia V5 The Tebis Catia V5 export interface is intended for all Tebis designers who create Tebis files for further processing in Catia V5. Some typical applications include: Reverse engineering with Tebis RSC (Rapid Surface Creation). Creating new surfaces quickly and easily with Tebis design functions. Smoothing surfaces with Tebis Optimizer to obtain results in Class A quality. Processing surfaces for NC machining and delivering these results. Applying springback compensation to an existing draw die using automatic deformation. Using CAD functions designed exclusively for Tebis to integrate results into a Catia V5 process. User benefits: The direct interface transfers data exactly as it appears in Tebis, with no difference in quality – and no need for subsequent processing. The interface retains tangent- or curvaturecontinuous transitions and distances exactly as they’ve been defined, transferring the segmentation of surfaces and curves identically. Catia V5 compliant data structure The Catia V5 compliant part structure can be either rebuilt or imported into a Catia V5 model for further processing. When creating a new product/part structure, Tebis supports the user by defining an empty V5 compliant structure. This product/part structure is defined by layers and is easy to expand and adjust to meet your own requirements. If you have a product/part structure defined by filters – such as Catia V5 data imported with the GET Catia V5 interface – you can import it in a Catia V5-compliant layer structure. Topology are transferred as topology or solid When transferring data into a CATPart file, faces are transferred as faces and topologies as topologies (Catia surface). If needed, closed topologies may also be transferred as solid. During the transfer, all attributes (colors, names, etc.) are retained. Automatic conformity check With the touch of a button, you can have the built-up layer structure restructured and the data checked for V5 compliance. Even if your Catia V5 experience is minimal, you can depend on the output structure being completely compatible with Catia V5. You can export product/part nodes directly from the structure tree. With a single mouse click you can create an empty Catia V5 compliant structure, which you can then expand as needed. Data export directly from the structure tree The Tebis Catia V5 interface lets you select the data you want to export from the structure tree. That way, part structures can also be output as CATProduct and CATPart files. Catia is a registered trademark of Dassault Systèmes. The layer type can be changed to meet your requirements, such as transferring a closed topology as a solid.
