Fun Workshops
WEAVING - Open Studio
An Open Studio class allows students of all levels to
work on varying projects at the same time with instructor oversight. Everyone learns from each other
as well, as there is a lot of positive interaction. Below
are projects students will work on during the sessions:
SHIBORI: Beginners will learn how to weave a basic
woven cloth, tie it and dye it to achieve a beautiful
shibori design. Continuing students will learn drafting, weave and structure.
IKAT: Beginning students will learn about looms and
designs, wind and dye yarns, set their warp yarns
and begin weaving. Continuing students will continue
to weave their projects while also learning how to
read a weave draft and how to draw out the weave.
PLAID: Design a plaid scarf or table runner. Draft
your design and calculate yarn needed for each color
in the plaid, then begin weaving.
STEP BEYOND BEGINNER
For those of you with a little sewing knowledge who want an intermediate class--this is
it! In just weeks, learn to sew a basic dress,
blouse, slacks or shirt. Tackle new issues, such
as cuffs, collar, buttons & buttonholes, darts,
etc. Vogue Fabrics provides sewing machines
in the class. Students receive a 10% Student

Learn how to properly fit a corset onto another
person in this one-day hands-on class. You will
learn how to “read” the bubbles and puckers in

the proper length so the corset won’t cut into
the wearer’s legs when sitting. Also learn how to
determine the best bone choice for the wearer, as
