Dear Partners,
“There is nothing on earth comparable to it.”
Author Harriet Beecher Stowe once commented these words
about Silver Springs.
Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings called it “a secret and lovely place.”
Across the centuries, countless people have marveled over
this wondrous natural gem. George Rainsford Fairbanks once
said of the waters bubbling up from our beloved Springs, “It is
not strange that they should be deemed to possess a renovating
elixir, and to promise, to those who would dwell by their banks
and disport in their waters, a restoration of youthful vigor
and energy.”
If you had the pleasure of visiting the Silver Springs of
years ago, you can surely relate. In recent years, however, the
Springs have not been nearly as inviting. But now, “Nature’s
Theme Park” is being restored to its former glory. We couldn’t
be more thrilled about this news, and we invite you to read all
about the details in our cover story this month.
We believe it’s perfect timing, too, as we are seeing our entire
community itself not only have “a restoration of youthful vigor

The Jumbolair Estate was originally home to Muriel Vanderbilt
Adams, the granddaughter of Cecil Vanderbilt. Subsequently, the
estate operated as the corporate headquarters for the Nautilus
Fitness Company and became a sanctuary to 98 elephants, two
white rhinos and a gorilla named Mickey. Today, Jumbolair is
known around the world as the premier aviation community.
The Jumbolair Estate is abundant in character and charm.
Located on the property you will find the southern colonial man-
sion surrounded by one-hundred-year-old oak trees reminiscent
of Gone with the Wind. The grand staircase and bay picture
windows make a beautiful backdrop for your wedding photos.
The magnificent 9,000 sq. ft. ballroom and 4,000 sq. ft. courtyard is a perfect venue for any type of event. Nine 10-foot tall

It’s in mankind’s nature to ask questions about our place in the universe. And
the possibilities are thrilling. Strange sightings are increasing all around the

A team of experts in Ocala, FL, is accumulating photographic evidence of
Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) of unknown origin. The UAP emit
light of various colors, exhibit strange behavior that suggest intelligence, and
resemble descriptions found in top-secret files declassified with the Freedom
of Information Act.

Led by Theorist Steve Nakonechny and Ph.D. Physicist Katarina Mizouni,
the Ocala UAP Affiliation has started a rigorous scientific analysis of the
phenomena for publication. State-of-the art technical equipment is allowing us
to get closer to the truth, one day at a time, but additional studies are needed.

he Ocala/Marion County Chamber
& Economic Partnership (CEP) has
been approved for a Partner Trade Grant
through Enterprise Florida, Inc. to fund
up to ten Gold Key Matching Services for
businesses participating in the Ireland
trade mission.
Through the U.S. Commercial Service
of the U.S. Department of Commerce,
the Gold Key Matching Service assists
businesses with exporting initiatives
through several areas including: customized market and industry briefings,
market research, pre-set appointments
with prospective trade partners, post-
meeting debriefings with trade specialists to develop follow-up strategies,
and assistance with interpreter or
clerical services.
The CEP is working with Ocala’s twin
city partners in Newbridge, Ireland,
the U.S. Embassy in Dublin, the U.S.
Export Assistance Center of the U.S.
Department of Commerce, and Enterprise Florida, Inc. to promote a trade
mission to Newbridge, and encourage
businesses to consider options for a
global footprint. Florida is home to
one in five of the nation’s exporters of
which 95% are small to medium-sized
businesses and account for more than
$66 billion in sales to over 200 interna-
tional trading partners.
Newbridge, Ireland shares many
similarities with its Ocala twin, such as
a strong industrial base and a prolific
equine community, making this an ideal
destination for businesses looking to
partner with other businesses in the
European Union. The mission will focus
on both of these industry sectors and will
include at least one Gold Key Matching
Service per participant.

Their Skills In A Unique Competition

O
n May 11, 2015, thirteen students
representing the Applied Cybersecurity Community Technical and
Adult Education (CTAE) and the eleven
students representing the Information
Technology program at Marion Technical Institute (MTI) participated in a
competition called “Capture the Flag”.
Eight, three-person teams, each having at least one representative of each
school competed against each other in a
troubleshooting competition.
Each team was presented with a
troubleshooting scenario for a standard Windows-based computer system.
As a part of this scenario, there were
twelve issues of varying complexity
inserted into each system which had to
be resolved. Each team was given a 30
minute time limit to resolve the issues,
access the Internet, and browse to a

specified webpage. Additionally, there
were several operating system tasks
that each team needed to complete. The
winning team was determined by the
number of issues resolved within the
time allotted.
Mr. William Kratzer, CTAE’s applied
cybersecurity instructor stated, “The
goals of today’s event were to present
real-world scenarios the students will
face once they complete their programs, and provide an opportunity for
our students to demonstrate the skills
they have learned thus far. I was very
pleased with their performances.”

team were Whitney Metzger (CTAE),
Erik Johnson (MTI), and Sean McAtee (MTI). One of the winning team
members, Whitney Metzger commented,
“I really enjoyed this event. It was a
great experience in troubleshooting, and
working as part of a team. Teamwork
was a crucial part of the competition.”
Each member of the winning team

by The Ocala IT Professionals and the
