Washed and dried Boston lettuce leaves

Niagara Mustard
Preheat oven to 400 F (200 C).
Lay Canadian Back Bacon slices in a single layer on a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet.
Place a second piece of parchment paper over Canadian back bacon and top with a second
baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until bacon is crisp. Let cool on a wire rack set over
a plate. Slit sausage skins and crumble sausage meat into a large bowl. Add ground beef,
parsley, maple syrup, salt and pepper, and mix gently but thoroughly until well combined.
Form sausage mixture into 4 even-size patties about ½ inch thick. With the heel of your hand,
make an indentation in centre of each patty (this helps burgers cook more evenly).

Preheat barbecue to medium. Cook patties on well-oiled grill for 10 to 12 minutes, turning
once. Just before burgers are ready, top each burger with one quarter of Balderson Smoked
Cheddar cheese. Split Kaiser buns in half horizontally and toast, cut-side down, until golden.
Spread bottom halves of buns with your choice of Kozlik’s Mustard. Top with Boston lettuce
leaves. Add a burger to each bun, along with tomato and a slice of Canadian Back bacon.
Replace tops of buns. Makes 4 burgers.

Why Avocados?
Creative Ways to Enjoy Avocados:
Avocado Oil: The emerald green colour makes it an
excellent bread dip, marinade or salad dressing. It also
has a higher smoke point and may be used for cooking.
Guacamole: Mash an avocado, mix it with the juice of
½ a lime, some minced onion, peppers and tomato, add
a dash of sea salt, pepper and stevia. This makes a great
dip or topping for salads, burgers or sandwiches! Don’t
forget the veggies!
Green Smoothie: Try blending ¼ avocado with ½ cup
frozen mango or banana, 1 cup fresh or frozen kale or
spinach, ½ cup yogurt (try Greek yogurt), ¼ cup mango
juice or coconut water, ½ cup ice, (1 scoop vanilla whey
protein powder-optional).
Avocado Icing: Stir together and then blend:
1 avocado (mashed) with 2 tbsp. maple or rice syrup
or agave, 1 tbsp vanilla, 4-5 tbsp. cocoa powder.
