The Priest’s House
welcomes families,
groups and visitors
of all ages...
The museum is open from 2 April to 3 November
(closed 31 July), Monday to Saturday, 10.00am
to 4.30pm.

The ground floor and garden are accessible to wheelchair users
(a video of the first floor galleries is available). Toilets are fully
accessible and baby change facilities are available.
The museum is located on the High Street of Wimborne
Minster. There are regular bus services from Poole and
Bournemouth. Car and coach parking is available in the town.
ur collections are rich in archaeology, costume,
childhood memoribilia and local history - which
tell the story of East Dorset. You can discover our
stunning Roman wall paintings, the fascinating
childhood gallery and a unique Victorian Valentine
card collection.
Explore the period rooms - from a 17th century hall
to our working Victorian kitchen and see how life
and work has changed in this historic townhouse.
In the East Dorset Villages Gallery you can
experience a Victorian schoolroom and step back
in time through a village street. Why not do some
research of your own using our extensive archive?
Wander through our peaceful walled garden which
features heritage fruit trees and a glimpse of the
River Allen. Our gift shop completes your visit.
The admission price includes entrance into the 10 period rooms
and exhibition galleries, and the walled garden. We would
recommend allowing 1 to 1½ hours for your visit.
Our new Open Learning Centre
(supported by the Heritage Lottery
Fund) includes a multi-purpose
learning and community space in
addition to our new tearoom where
you can relax and enjoy a refreshing
drink and a selection of delicious
homemade cakes.
The Open Learning Centre
will enhance our award*
winning learning
programme.
The museum welcomes groups (please book in
advance) and we can provide guided tours which
offer a fascinating insight into the history of the house
and a glimpse of the lives of its inhabitants.

the Heritage Education Trust’s
Sandford Award for Excellence.

admission shown in brackets) includes a
10% voluntary donation.
