What is an Auto Belay?
An auto belay is an automatic belay device that eliminates the need for a human belayer. The auto belay
takes up the slack as a climber ascends and controls the descent when the climber reaches the top or in
the event of a fall.
Using a TRUBLUE auto belay in your climbing wall facility increases participation while driving down costs
and makes climbing even more fun. Auto belays benefit all levels of climbers, from the novice getting a feel
for the movement to the elite climber focusing on conditioning and training.
TRUBLUE Auto Belays.
The TRUBLUE uses a self-regulating magnetic braking system and is engineered to meet the strictest safety
standards of all auto belays. The only auto belay specifically designed for climbing, there are thousands of
TRUBLUEs in use globally.
Modular and compact, TRUBLUE auto belays are easy to install, move and maintain. Plus, TRUBLUE
accommodates the widest range of climber weights of all auto belay systems. This makes it ideal for
climbing walls used by both children and adults.
TRUBLUE’s self-regulating magnetic braking system is the result of over four years of research, development
and testing by an ISO 17025 certified testing facility. This braking system provides many unique benefits
to operators, including:

• Braking resistance adjusts automatically to suit the weight of the climber, providing a
smooth descent.

Safety Standards.
If a karabiner needs to meet safety standards, shouldn’t your auto belay?
The TRUBLUE auto belay is the only auto belay device that meets the same safety standards as other
climbing gear.
Did you know that auto belays are not governed by the same standards as other climbing industry
equipment? In fact, there is no climbing industry standard pertaining to auto belay devices.
Fall arrest devices in any other industries are required to meet specific safety standards. Why should
climbing industry fall arrest devices be any different? TRUBLUE believe that auto belays should meet the
same standards for safety as any other fall arrest devices.

trial period of one month on a sale or return basis.
If you feel the trial period has been successful and would like to continue to use an auto belay device at
your climbing facility, you can remain in possession of the supplied TRUBLUE device and we will invoice
you for the full cost of the unit.
If, after the trial period, you feel that installation of an auto belay device has not added value to your
climbing facility, the supplied TRUBLUE unit can simply be returned to us with no charges incurred.
