These lights are notifications of Hardware failures:



DSL - Flashing RED simultaneously with the Ethernet LED = hardware failure detected.
DSL - Solid RED with no other lights = hardware failure detected.
ETHERNET - Flashing Green simultaneously with the DSL LED = hardware failure detected.
If your Ethernet light does not light up:

1. Verify you are using the provided Ethernet cable (color coded yellow) and check the connections to the computer's
NIC/Ethernet port and the Ethernet port on the back of the Westell (outlined in yellow). If you are using an Ethernet
(RJ-45) cable not provided by Frontier, make sure it is a straight-through cable and not a crossover cable. A
crossover cable will give a green Ethernet light, but prevents surf.
2. If another Ethernet (RJ-45) cable is available, swap out cables to make sure the one you are using is not defective.
Make sure the cable used is not a crossover type cable. If the cable is defective ask technical support for a new RJ45 patch cable.
3. Go to Device Manager to make sure the NIC is enabled. If already enabled, disable the NIC and re-enable.

Firmware upgrades:
During the software installation, you will lose internet and phone service. The LEDs will function as follows:
1. As firmware is being loaded into flash, the LEDs will operate normally as described above.
2. The installation may take a few minutes. During this phase, the LEDs will function as follows:

Power LED = Solid Green

Ethernet LED = Solid Green

The rest of the LEDs (Wireless to Phone 2) will flash Solid Green one after the other moving from top to
bottom and then bottom to top.
3. The gateway will restart automatically. As the device reboots, the POWER ON LED behavior will happen.
