 The Media Library is open to visitors. If you haven’t visited yet, please stop by. 
 When placing an order on Medianet to borrow from the Classroom Book Collection (CBC), please specify
the number of books needed. Otherwise, only one copy will be sent to you.
 Please return materials on time, so other clients may also borrow these materials as well.
 The Winter Collection will be going out in January.
DELIVERIES AFTER SNOW DAYS
So far it has been a mild winter, but in case the weather does turn bad the LRC wants to remind patrons of
our Van Delivery Snow Day policy. The LRC does not send out the delivery van on days where more than
half the districts on that day’s run are closed due to snow. Instead, delivery will be made the next day. If
the next day is a regular delivery day, two vans will be sent out, so all schools receive delivery that day. If the
day after a snow day is a Wednesday, the van will be sent out only for the schools that were supposed to
receive delivery the previous day.

Peter Jackson’s film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens December 14th. Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord
of the Rings series, this is the first of three films to be released. The films tell a continuous story set in Middleearth 60 years before “The Lord of the Rings.” The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo
Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon

It is hard to believe that this year is the 28th anniversary of Chris Van Allsburg’s book. Check out this website for
the Countdown to Christmas and ways for families to celebrate with The Polar Express at

now has a Classroom Book Collection of 35 copies of the 25th anniversary edition (#62966), as well as a
