Pratt Distinguished Professor and chairman of orthopaedic surgery honored by The Society for Biomaterials or his significant contributions to the F literature on biomaterials Dr. Cato Laurencin 2006 Society for Biomaterials Clemson Award Winner Among the highest honors bestowed by the Society of Biomaterials, the Clemson Award for Contributions to Literature recognizes an individual for significant contributions to the science or technology of biomaterials. Dr. Cato Laurencin received this honor for his lifetime contributions to the field, which include extensive publications in technical journals, significant critical analyses and frequent citations. His research areas include biomaterials, tissue engineering and controlled drug delivery.
