The Ensiacet approach
Selection and progress
International thinking
A7 was initially founded as a means of
federating a set of high-level skills and
specialities. The institute covers all fields
relating to matter and energy, ranging from
chemistry to industrial engineering. Demand
logically increased and selection therefore
became stricter.
INP-ENSIACET targets multidisciplinarity by
combining scientific and technological learning with the reality awaiting A7 graduates in
companies. All A7 students actively participate in group projects combined with work
placements in the industrial sector.
We accept foreign students and A7 students must spend a period in another
country, learning to handle a different
lifestyle and culture. Students have two
options:
• one or several work placements in
a company or institution, to rapidly
acquire an international experience; these periods count for the three mandatory work placements included in courses,
• one or two semesters in a foreign university.
A7 aims to transmit more than the acquisition of knowledge and methods, and
encourages students to show initiative and
team spirit and to be adaptable in the workplace.
All students acquire a global and systembased vision of industrial operations relating
to the physical, chemical or biological transformation of matter, companies and the
corporate environment
Selective institutes in France
A specific environment
Only a limited number of students are accepted via high-level national and
international recruitment processes. Courses include professionalisation components in the form of practical work cycles and projects ensuring direct relations with industrial actors, particularly during work placements. Teaching
content is strongly based on research skills.

offered by A7.
Materials engineers have the basic scientific,
technical and socio-economic background to
lead projects based on the intelligent selection
of materials and related preparation processes.
These engineers have solid theoretical and
practical knowledge of the 4 groups of
materials (metals, polymers, ceramics and glass,
semi-conductors) and composites.
Materials
Chemistry graduates have a solid basic scientific and technical
grounding. These graduates understand the strategies for the
synthesis of complex and synthetic molecules or molecules taken
from natural products and used in various applications. Requirements
inherent to manufacturing processes are taken into account right
from the start: selection of the process and financial considerations,
environmental impact, use of co-products and by-products.
Chemical engineering
Exhaustive knowledge of materials
Double competences in chemistry
and processes
Chemistry
Industrial engineers hold technical competences and are able to implement these
skills throughout industrial processes, enabling them to adapt to any sector
involved in industrial development: ranging from the physical system applied
by the company (engineering, industrialisation, production), to more multidisciplinary
functions (quality, information systems, logistics) and to a more global vision
of the industrial process (project management, creation of companies).
Process engineering

Graduates with double training in
chemistry and processes can handle any
aspect of development, from chemical
methods to industrial production.
These graduates are able to track all
stages of industrialisation and production
control, including the management of
risks and safety for processes.
Process design
and application management
Industrial engineering
These multidisciplinary graduates have solid
grounding in Process engineering, are 100%
run in for mathematical, digital
and computerised tools, and have received
general training in social and human sciences
and economics.
Processes graduates can innovate and design
new, profitable, clean and safe processes
and thereby contribute to sustainable
development, create, model and simulate
the plants of the future.

Priscila P. Cruz
I am a Brazilian student on an exchange program at ENSIACET.
I have generally been impressed with the teaching methods used at A7, which are
not always applied in Brazil. I feel this makes a real difference. Time spent abroad is undoubtedly a worthwhile
experience, both personally and professionally. Work placements enable us to apply and improve the knowledge
gained at A7. Living abroad means students learn to adapt to a different culture. Toulouse is a great place to
live, with many ERASMUS students. I have gained new and beneficial experience thanks to the mixed cultural
environment. This period spent in France has been very worthwhile and motivating.
Marcello Tognola
I finished my “diplôme d'ingénieur” at ENSIACET
in 2006 and currently, I am doing PhD under the
contract CIFRE in collaboration with ICSI, LGC, INP
and several French chemical companies. I choose to
do my “diplôme d’ingénieur” in “génie chimique”
at ENSIACET to give my career an international
touch. I was attracted by the reputation of “grande
école”, which are known for their excellence and
elitist approach. I found the syllabus of "génie
chimique" in perfect continuation to my previous study
of Bachelor in Chemical
Engineering in India. The course
work is nicely balanced between the theory, "do-it-yourself" and the practical work.
Nishant PANDYA
There two unique features
which I like the most at ENSIACET. First, it offers
several options in the last year. And second, the
industrial training which, I think is a key factor for
beginning a career in a chemical industry.
I believe that my perspective has been widened
ever since I have been a student at ENSIACET.
The skills and "know-how" I learnt at ENSIACET
will really be helpful to fulfil my professional
objectives.
I am an Italian
student, from the
chemical engineering
department of "Politecnico
di Milano". The need to learn, to see and to live
new experiences induced me to join an international
double degree project during my last year of studies. As
a participant I went to ENSIACET in Toulouse and spent
two years learning process engineering, computer science
and, of course, French! It was an incredible opportunity to
meet people from all over the world, to share, to cope with and
to understand differences in cultures, mostly with a massive
amount of laughs! At the university the welcome from the students was warm and the support from the teachers was excellent.
They always found stimulating activities to propose, with industrial projects, training periods and alternative ways of teaching.
Furthermore at the end of the studies also graduated students
are followed by the university associations which care about
putting them in contact with companies looking for new
engineers to hire!
Moreover, all of this staying in the nice city of Toulouse
with its historical sites, its numerous pubs and
the astonishing traditional food. Definitely an
experience worth trying!
I graduated with a
diploma in civil engineering and a second
diploma in law in China.
Suling DAI
After graduating,
I worked in a construction company between 1995 and 1999.
I then changed employer and switched to project
management. I joined the industrial engineering department
of ENSIACET in 2005 on a course on the Management
of industrial systems.
I then carried out a period of work placement with a French
company, FM LOGISTIC, in China, where the company was
investing. The company now has 3 projects underway in
China, two near to SHANGHAI, and a third near to BEIJING.
I was recruited by FM Logistic China after a 6-month work
placement. I started out as works foreman, and subsequently
became project manager. I am now purchasing manager and
buy equipment (racks, levelling docks, pumps, low power
systems, etc.). My logic was straightforward:
- I came to France to gain experience,
- Toulouse is a beautiful town, and the second largest
university town in France. Several selective institutes
exist in the area.
- I am thrilled to study at ENSIACET, my lecturers are very
professional and friendly, and I also get on well
with my colleagues.
