Easter will soon be upon us but it is still on the other side of Palm Sunday and Holy Week. In worship, through the scripture readings, we are walking with Jesus to “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it!” We know that his triumphant ride into that city will be followed by arrest, torture, crucifixion, death, and then resurrection. So how do we prepare ourselves for Easter? Some suggestions: Pray and pray often even if it’s just a few sentences uttered beneath your breath. Remain in contact with God. Be attentive to the needs of others. Jesus actions were always other directed. Be open. Look beyond your own needs to those who are in greater need. Look without judgment. Look without prejudice. Look with your spirit and not your eyes. Give. Give of yourself as Jesus gave of himself. Give out of your abundance and not your scarcity. Touch those people you meet – their hand, their arm, their shoulder. There is more to the human touch than we know. A touch can say as much as words do. Invite. Invite people to celebrate the resurrection that happened as much for them as for you. Ask them to come to church and be blessed. These are but a few of the things we can do to ready ourselves to remember that morning that is talked about the world over 2,000 years after it happened. More than remembering, our preparation allows us to live it. So let’s prepare. MARCH MATURE GROUP THOUGHTS ABOUT EASTER BY ALICE BAILEY Friday March 18, 2016 10:30AM @ MB Easter is nearing it’s a time all Christians celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Take a look at our lives and decide if we’re going in the right direction. God sent Jesus to show the way to all people of the world, how to live And how to love, also remind us, there is a higher power, In our heavenly Father above. I often think how great it would be for everyone to know our Savior Jesus He’s the one we can count on for help, when life is being unkind to us. I wonder too wheat people do who don’t have a church of their own. Do they know about he bible? And how it can bring peace & love to a home. IRISH MUSIC & TRIVIA POTLUCK You are all invited to attend. ?’s Contact Bob or Dianne Mason 602-938-0216 Without a church family people can’t know what they are really missing. If they could just see the power of Jesus’ love, Him They would not be resisting. It’s time for each of us to be a disciple for our Savior And go spread His Word. So, come all ye Christians this Easter Season and let you voices be heard. 3 4 We are excited to announce that during the grand opening our food pantry served a family of six in our community!
