A new icon, -><-, appears on the Copyright Display
if the Token Data System is present. The
appearance of the icon signifies that the lastsaved parameters on the Token are being loaded.
In the absence of the Data Token System,
pressing NEXT will load the default session
parameters. Optionally, session parameters can
be loaded from a PC per the ERGYS View protocol.

to a PC to capture real-time session data.
VERSION H.6
The new ERGYS version is displayed
after the title screen. For better
readability, this display now appears in
all upper case characters.

a No resistance application in the manual

RPM SETTINGS - REDO OR NEXT
Previous ERGYS software set the target (control)
cadence at 49 RPM and the fatigue cut-off at 35
RPM. These settings could not be changed. The
new software allows for target RPM settings from
32 to 70 and a range of fatigue cut-off settings
from 10 RPM to just under the setting for the
target RPM.
If the RPM settings are changed, a message
lets the user know that the ERGYS is
calculating new stimulus patterns to best
match the new RPM settings.
WARM UP
MM:SS
RPM: x
PEDAL SPEED MUST EXCEED y RPM
Previous ERGYS software versions
required cadences above 35 RPM before
the Warm Up count-up and the Cool Down
count-down could proceed. The new
software sets this cadence at the Fatigue
RPM level set on the Target RPM display.

The word 'AUTO' has been replaced by
'AUTOERGO' on the Auto Ergometry display.
This change was made to eliminate the
confusion between the word 'Auto' on this
display (meaning Auto Ergometry) and the
word 'Auto' that appears on the Resistance
Setting display (meaning the Automatic
Resistance Mode).

Electric brake available for prepping
Version H.6 allows the pedal
crank to be locked electronically
for prepping. This electric lock is
toggled on or off by pressing
the ‘END’ key on any display
except the AUTO ERGO display.
Case Studies
þ Joe in Minneapolis - T-level SCI
unable to ride without assistance after
6 months of ERGYS sessions. 6
minute rider with new software.
þ Mike in Kentucky - C-3/4 Quad unable
to ride without assistance during the
first session. 2 minute rider with new
software.
Strategies
~ Low target and fatigue RPM settings =
Less stimulus required for riders with
substantial to moderate sensation
~ More of muscle is recruited with the
longer "on" times of slower cadences
~ ERGYS View software for PC data
collection and analysis
~ And more!

Converting from a Mechanical to an Electronic Crank Lock
Install the new ERGYS software.
Refer to the separate
instructions for this.
With the new software installed,
pressing the ‘END’ key on the
keypad (or the LOCK key on
newer ERGYS systems) will lock
the drive train as an aid in
prepping for a session.
1
2
Remove the right side boot
assembly and the drive train
cover to access the crank lock
bolt. Remove the crank lock bolt
to render the mechanical crank
lock inoperable. This will prevent
wear and tear and damage to
the crank assembly.
You may opt to keep the bolt in
place, but keep in mind that the
ERGYS can be damaged if the
brake is engaged while the drive
train is moving.
3
Replace the old ‘Lock/Unlock’ label
with the new label.
