PRESSING OUTPUT SHAFT OUT
Insert the Force Screw (3) into the Force
Screw (7) and install through HUB Puller
Plate (1).
Attach the Puller Plate (1) securely to the
drive flange using the original wheel studs.
Screw special tool (3), grip with tire iron
(2) and (C), and then Press
output shaft out of drive flange.

of upper and down lid. Both of them have to be aligned and
closely to each other.
Use 2Nm torque to tighten the screw which only fixed
the thrust piece. Too much power might higher the risk of
causing damage on the lids.

This kit is necessary for the removal and installation of wheel hubs and bearings which are a one piece part (Built in part)
Suited for wheel bearing diameters 85mm which are found on T5 and Touareg models.
Note: The wheel hub unit MUST be pushed on the outer bearing ring, behind the locking crown. Using a press on the
centre flange.
INSTALL
REMOVAL
Mount the dismantling
shells on the wheel bearing
housing with two screws.
Hammer the bolts carefully
into the mounting plate - the
bolts have to be aligned the
wheel hub’s hole circle. During
the disassembly, the bolts press
against the mounting shells
through the wheel stud holes.
Attach the dismounting plate
sideways to the drive shaft and
lead the spindle with the
attached mounting plate from
the front through the wheel
hub and the dismounting plate.
Pull out the worn out wheel
hub/bearing unit with the
spindle and the spindle nut.
ATTENTION:
Clean the area before
installation of the new
wheel hub/bearing unit,
the contact surface in the
wheel bearing housing.
Mount the mounting
shells to the new wheel
hub/bearing unit with the
fastening bolts for the
mounting shells. Lay the
hub/bearing unit onto the
mounting plate so that the
pre-assembled bolts touch
the mounting shells through
the wheel stud holes.
Attach the mounting plate
sideways to the drive shaft
and lead the spindle with
the attached mounting
plate and new hub/bearing
unit from the front through
the swivel bearing and the
mounting plate.
Pull in the new wheel
bearing with the bearing
spindle and the spindle nut.

Allows the removal of even stubborn injector nozzles
without removing the cylinder head from the vehicle.
APPLICATION
A Class - OM668 Engine
The removal of injector nozzles is particularly difficult on A Class engines, as two injector nozzles are always
held by a single retaining clip, so that if one of the injector nozzle has to be removed, the second nozzle
must be pulled out in parallel with it. By using the special extraction bridge and inserting the two pull
spindles, the injector nozzles can be removed in a fast and easy way.
Instructions
Unscrew the injector nozzle heads by means of the special sockets included in the set. Screw pull spindles
into injector nozzles, place pre-assembled extraction bridge onto valve cover and screw in shoulder nuts.
Extract injector nozzles by evenly rotating the shoulder nuts.
Note: On CDI-engines OM 668 two injector nozzles are always held by a single retaining clip only. If one
of the injector nozzle has to be removed, the second nozzle must be pulled out in parallel with it.

For removal, pre-tension the clutch pressure plate.
Unscrew the three fastening screws and screw three thread bolts
in their place. Place the clutch pretensioner on the thread bolts
and fix them with the knurled nuts. Screw in the pressure spindle
of the clutch pretensioner until the diaphragm spring reaches the
limit stop. Unscrew the remaining fastening screws, slacken the
diaphragm spring and remove the clutch pretensioner and the
clutch pressure plate.

Insert the clutch aligner with clutch disc and the appropriate
centring mandrel into the flywheel.

Position the pressure plate on the flywheel and install the clutch

screw in the retaining screws.

Step 1: Place an appropriate adaptor onto the tool (#1), and then put the tool onto the brake hat (Figure 1).
Step 2: Press the release button (#2) then roll and move the lever (#4) to push the adaptor into the fillister of the brake hat
(Figure 2). The air operated ram is used to apply pressure to the caliper piston, while the handle is operated by hand. The tools
is reversible, working on both RH / LH applications (and wind back / push back pistons).
Step 3: Press the pressure switch (#3) to continually release the pressure into the pressure tube - make sure that adaptor has
enough pressure to avoid slipping off. Then simply turn the brake hat with the lever (#4). Make sure that you turn the lever
in the correct direction, depending upon whether the application is left / right handed.
Step 4: Press the release button (#2) and pull the lever (#4) to take the pressure
spindle (#5) out from the brake hat (Figure 3).

1. This series of engines have both timing
belt and chain to control the valve
timing.
2. Known as an interference engine, this
means that if the Cam belt or chain
should break it is more than likely that
damage may have occurred to the
pistons or valves. It is recommended
that a compression test should be
taken on all cylinders before removing
the cylinder head(s)

3. The T ension Wrench (A) is generally
used when fitting timing belts where it
is necessary to hold the positioning of
the belt tensioner pulley in alignment
whilst the centre nut is tightened.

4. On 2.0 litre FSI engines this tool can
also be used to turn the inlet camshaft
when fitting the Camshaft Alignment
Tool (C) into the grooves located on
the camshaft spindle.
5. The Camshaft Alignment T ool (C) is
fitted at the back of the engine next to
the camshaft link chain. The formed
pegs are located between the camshaft
lobes as illustrated.
6. It is advisable to fix this tool to the
cylinder head using the 2 x
washer-faced M6 fasteners provided
as indicated.
11. Fit the Camshaft Alignment Tool (C)
and retain with the fasteners.
12. Refit the camshaft adjuster on to the
exhaust camshaft ensuring that the
notch and pin align.
13. Maintain position and lay the chain
over the top of the inlet camshaft
sprocket.
7. If the tool cannot be fitted, the
camshaft timing is incorrect and the
camshaft adjuster must be removed
using a T50 T orx® Bit.
8. The chain tensioner is pressed together
using Chain T ensioner Retaining Nut
and Screw (E) and is locked in position
with Tensioner pin (B).
9. Use the Automatic Chain T ensioner
Retainer tool (D) for engines with an
automatic chain tensioner.
10. The camshaft adjuster can now be
removed along with the chain.

INSTRUCTIONS
The flywheel end oil seal is integral with the oil seal housing and speed sender, and is supplied
with a new timing ring. If the oil seal is faulty, the whole assembly must be renewed. This
Crankshaft Seal Installer Tool 4809 is required to press the new seal housing assembly into
position. Note that removing the oil seal will also remove the serrated timing ring from the end
of the crankshaft and care must be taken to refit the ring in its exact position.
Remove the flywheel or
driveplate (as applicable).
Set the engine to TDC.
Remove the sump.
Disconnect the wiring spur
from the engine speed sender
on the oil seal housing
(ARROW), then unbolt and
remove the sender and
recover the rubber grommet.
Unscrew the housing
securing bolts and remove
them. Discard the bolts as
new ones must be used on
reassembly.

(maximum half-turn for each bolt) into seal
housing and press seal housing together
with sender timing ring off the crankshaft.

clamping surfaces A of the threaded spindle.
Clamp Installer Tool 4809 to a vice (clamping

Installer Tool 4809 — ensure that tool locating
pin B can be inserted into timing ring hole A.
NOTE: Ensure seal housing lies flat on
Installer Tool 4809.
Push seal housing and support ring for
sealing lip B against surface of Installer Tool
4809 while tightening the three knurled
screws A, so that locating pin cannot slide
out of timing ring hole.
NOTE: When installing seal housing, ensure
that timing ring remains fixed in Installer Tool.

Attaching Installer Tool 4809 with seal housing to
crankshaft flange.
Crankshaft flange must be free of oil and grease.
Check that the engine is still at TDC.
Screw large hex nut B to end of threaded spindle.
Press threaded spindle of Installer Tool 4809
in direction of arrow, until large hex nut B lies
against installer housing A.
Align flat edge of Installer Tool 4809 on sump
side of crankcase sealing surface and fit the
tool and new seal housing assembly over the
crankshaft and onto the cylinder block.
Push guide pin (as applicable for petrol or
diesel engines) into hole in crankshaft. This
ensures that the timing ring reaches its final
installation position
NOTE: The guide-pin for diesel engines (righthand
knob) must not be inserted into
threaded hole of crankshaft on petrol engines
(and vice-versa).
Secure tool and new seal housing assembly
to crankshaft flange with the Allen-headed
bolts A.
To guide the seal housing, screw two M6 X
35mm bolts into cylinder block.
NOTE: Screw Allen-headed bolts A into
crankshaft flange (approximately 5 full turns).
Tighten large hex nut of Installer Tool 4809 to
35 Nm, this will press the timing ring onto the
crankshaft.
After tightening the hex nut, there must be a
small air gap between the seal housing and
the cylinder block.

Screw large hex nut E to end of threaded
spindle.
Remove the two guide bolts A from cylinder
block.
Screw the three knurled screws B out of
housing. Remove sealing lip support ring,
then remove Installer Tool 4809.
The timing ring is in the correct position on
the crankshaft of a gap -a- = 0.5 mm exists
between crankshaft flange A and timing ring B.
Set vernier gauge on crankshaft flange.
Measure distance -a- between crankshaft
flange and timing ring. This can also be
checked with a straight edge placed across
crankshaft flange and feeler gauge(s) used to
measure the clearance.
If measurement -a- is too small, re-press the
timing ring (see section on page 15).
If dimension -a- is correct:
Fit the new housing securing bolts.
Tighten these new housing securing bolts to
15 Nm using alternate and diagonal
sequence.
Insert the crankshaft speed sender and tighten
the securing bolt to 5 Nm.
Refit sump.
Refit intermediate plate.
Refit flywheel using new bolts.
Tighten securing bolts to 60 Nm +
one-quarter turn (90˚).

Re-pressing timing ring (if required)
Re-attach Installer Tool 4809 to crankshaft
flange using the Allen-headed bolts A. Hand
tighten these bolts.
Push Installer Tool 4809 by hand to sealing
flange.
Screw large hex nut E onto threaded spindle
by hand until it is in contact with tool body C.
Check installation position of timing ring on
crankshaft again (refer to page 13).
If dimension -a- is too small again, tighten
large hex nut E to to 45 Nm using torque
wrench and check installation position of
timing ring on crankshaft again.
Tighten large hex nut E to to 40 Nm
using torque wrench.
Check installation position of timing ring on
crankshaft again (refer to page 13).
If dimension -a- is too small again, tighten
large hex nut E to to 45 Nm using torque
wrench and check installation position of
timing ring on crankshaft again.

This kit is necessary for the removal and installation of wheel hubs and bearings which are a one piece part (Built in part)
Suited for wheel bearing diameters 85mm which are found on T5 and Touareg models.
Note: The wheel hub unit MUST be pushed on the outer bearing ring, behind the locking crown. Using a press on the
centre flange.
INSTALL
REMOVAL
Mount the dismantling
shells on the wheel bearing
housing with two screws.
Hammer the bolts carefully
into the mounting plate - the
bolts have to be aligned the
wheel hub’s hole circle. During
the disassembly, the bolts press
against the mounting shells
through the wheel stud holes.
Attach the dismounting plate
sideways to the drive shaft and
lead the spindle with the
attached mounting plate from
the front through the wheel
hub and the dismounting plate.
Pull out the worn out wheel
hub/bearing unit with the
spindle and the spindle nut.
ATTENTION:
Clean the area before
installation of the new
wheel hub/bearing unit,
the contact surface in the
wheel bearing housing.
Mount the mounting
shells to the new wheel
hub/bearing unit with the
fastening bolts for the
mounting shells. Lay the
hub/bearing unit onto the
mounting plate so that the
pre-assembled bolts touch
the mounting shells through
the wheel stud holes.
Attach the mounting plate
sideways to the drive shaft
and lead the spindle with
the attached mounting
plate and new hub/bearing
unit from the front through
the swivel bearing and the
mounting plate.
Pull in the new wheel
bearing with the bearing
spindle and the spindle nut.
