MAY/JUNE 2016
Welcome to Oaklee’s Family Guide
Dear Readers,
Spring has finally sprung, and there are new beginnings all around
us. As you can tell from the book you hold in your hand, Oaklee’s
Family Guide is back in print! We’re excited to be a part of Paddock
Publications, publishers of the Daily Herald. With their publishing
expertise and resources, we’ll be bringing you a bi-monthly edition
of Oaklee’s to make sure you don’t miss any fun throughout the year.
We’ll continue to focus on events, activities and places that are family
friendly, both in your neighborhood and throughout Chicagoland.
The May issue is full of the information you need to get through
the last few weeks of school and prepare for full-fledged summer.
In Chicagoland, many of our activities are dictated by the weather.
Oaklee’s has you covered, with a great list of museums (pages 27-29)
and party places (pages 24-26) for when the rain keeps us indoors,
along with a long list of local water parks (pages 40-41), festivals (pages 20-23), art fairs (pages 4850) and more outdoor fun (pages 6-9) for when the weather is warm. We’re including some July and
August events also so you can get a jump on your summer activity planning.
Don’t miss three pages of money-saving coupons on pages 45-49. You can print more coupons on
our website. Some coupons are valid on your phone, and some need to be in print, so be sure to
read the offer details for each coupon.
Be sure to visit www.oakleesguide.com to sign up for our e-newsletters, print coupons and find
even more events. Oaklee’s emails will keep you up-to-date on events, coupons and contests. Each
season, we’ll raffle tickets to theater productions, seasonal activities and local events. We already
have a lineup of passes to give away, including for Brickworld on June 18 & 19. Water park and pool
admissions are on the list of prizes throughout the summer, so sign up now!
We love to hear your feedback, so email us at [email protected] or post on our Facebook
page: www.facebook.com/oakleesguide. We’ll do our best to find the content that you need to Go
Make Memories with your families.
Happy Spring!
