Dress Code - Evolutions School of Dance

Dance Attire Requirements 2013/2014
Please do not purchase your attire from Wal Mart, Sears or similar stores as they are not proper dance
wear and therefore do not provide the appropriate fit.
*** PROPER ATTIRE IS MANDATORY. All students must comply with this dress
code or may risk being asked to sit out and observe the class or leave the
classroom.
All items of clothing are available at:
Classique Dance & Active Wear
(South location: #16 6624 Centre St. S;
North Location: 5720 SilverSprings Blvd NW)
or your closest dance store.
SMALL & TALL
-Any color/style bodysuit.
-Pink, Black or Tan Mondor Tights #310 (Or white ankle socks)
-Children may wear a skirt or shorts if they wish
-Pink or Black ballet slippers or Black or Tan Jazz Shoes
-Hair MUST be secured off the face.
-Boys: sweat pants or shorts & t-shirt
*Moms/dads/auntys, etc - wear something comfortable that you can move easily
in!
BALLET
Hair must be in a proper ballet bun for all ballet classes.
Fairytale Ballet, Pre-Primary Ballet, Primary Ballet & Ballet 1

- * Students may wear warm up shorts/legwarmers, etc for warm up. All warm up wear
will be asked to be removed once class has begun.
Pointe shoes are to be purchased ONLY at the teacher’s discretion. All shoes
must be approved by your teacher BEFORE you sew on any ribbons and elastic.
** Hair MUST be secured into a proper ballet bun
Students who choose not to follow dress code may be asked to leave the
classroom.
LYRICAL & JAZZ
All Levels
-Black or colored bodysuit. Spaghetti strap, tank or halter. No fancy backs.
-Black or Tan Mondor Tights-#310/314
-Dance shorts to be worn over tights. Capris pants will be accepted. Bodysuit and tights
must be worn at all times. NO LONG PANTS (these pose a safety hazard)
-SO499L Tan Jazz Shoes
-HO7 Foot Undeez Nude (Lyrical Only. Foot undeez are not mandatory but may be
purchased in addition to jazz shoes)
TAP DANCE
All Levels
- Black tank bodysuit Mondor #1645
- Beige or black tights Mondor #310
- Black skirt Mondor #6207 (optional)
- Black patent tap shoes Capezio 625C
HIP HOP
All Levels (Junior Bop, Junior, Intermediate, Teen)
-Comfortable clothes: dance shirt or tank top, Capri pants, shorts or sweat pants
- Jazz runners OR Indoor running shoes
- RECOMMENDED SHOE: SO 538 G/L BLACK
- Hair should be secured back from the face
UKRAINIAN DANCE
Beginner (4-5 years)
-Black Mondor Bodysuit- #1645

-Red Bloch Ballet Slippers with Elastic- SO275G
*Pre-School students may wear a colored skirt or shorts to class if they wish.
**Hair must be secured off the face. Ballet buns and braids are preferred.
Junior Ukrainian (5-9 years)

-Black Mondor Tights-#310/314 -Red Bloch Ballet Slippers with Elastic- SO275G
*Junior students may wear a colored skirt or shorts to class if they wish. NO PANTS!

Intermediate Ukrainian (10-11 years)
-Black Mondor Bodysuit-#1633
-Black Mondor Tights-#310/314 *Intermediate students may wear a colored skirt or
shorts to class if they wish.
-Red Bloch Ballet Slippers with Elastic- SO275G (Intermediate students may also wear
pink ballet slippers or black Bloch slip on jazz shoes SO499. All intermediate students
must have red ballet slippers).
**Hair must be secured off the face. Ballet buns and braids are preferred.
***Additional shoes may be required depending on the instructor and region. Sufficient
time/notice will be given.
Senior Ukrainian (12+ years)
-Black spaghetti strap, tank or halter bodysuit (No fancy backs please!)
-Black or Pink Mondor Tights-#314
-Senior students may wear dance shorts over their tights. NO PANTS!
-Pink ballet slippers: Leather slippers OR Canvas Slippers
**Hair must be secured off the face in a ballet bun.
***Additional shoes may be required depending on the instructor and region. Sufficient
time/notice will be given.
BOYS (all classes)
- Black shorts or black dance pants (NO BAGGY SWEAT PANTS)
- Fitted PLAIN BLACK OR WHITE T-shirt (Please wear a white shirt to ballet class).
SHOES:

- Ukrainian- Bloch SO403 Black or SO499 Black
- Jazz/Lyrical- SO499 Black (Lyrical students may wear Foot Undeez)
ADULT DANCE CLASSES
There is no set attire for adult classes but please wear appropriate clothing that will let
you move freely. Some adults choose to wear a bodysuit and tights and shorts, whereas
others choose to wear yoga pants and a tank top.
