KŪ MAUNA 2016 MANDATORY FRESHMAN ORIENTATION AT KAMEHAMEHA KAPĀLAMA Please Post As A Reminder Helpful Information For Your Boarding ‘Ōpio What time do I need to be at school and where? Scheduled Kū Mauna Date: After you’re done eating breakfast, head down to Bishop Memorial Chapel between 7:00-7:15 am. Monday, August 8 How long is Kū Mauna? 7:15 am to 5:15 pm. What should I wear? Casual/comfortable dress – shorts or jeans, t-shirt in good taste, & covered shoes. Wāhine, please be modest (no short shorts, midriffs, spaghetti straps, or off-the-shoulder tops). Wāhine & Kāne, for your safety, please do not wear any nose, tongue, ear, or eyebrow rings. Will there be lunch? Morning snacks, lunch, afternoon snacks, & water/juice will be provided. Should I bring my phone? Kū Mauna is a cell-phone free experience. If you must bring a cell phone, the phone will be collected & turned off for the duration of the orientation & returned thereafter. For emergencies or if your parent/guardian needs to contact you, please have them call (808) 842-8585. Is there anything else I should know? • • • ID pictures will be taken at Kū Mauna & are required for the first day of school. o No dyed or bleached hair with extreme colors/styles. o Kāne (Men): please be clean-shaven & clean-cut (no mohawks, faux hawks, or other unconventional hairstyles). Leave all valuables (tech devices, jewelry, & money) at home. Student athletes in camps, practices, & scrimmages have been cleared to attend Kū Mauna. We are very excited to see you at Kū Mauna!
