MEGATRON® and MEGATRON® S3 – the ophthalmic surgical systems

Our subsidiary FLUORON® manufactures highly purified bio-materials
for a variety of medical applications and has developed products protected by patent, such as perfluorohexyloctane (F6H8®), Densiron® 68,
the ”heavier-than-water” endotamponade for the treatment of
complicated retina detachments, F-OctaneLIGHT, the new retinal
reattachment solution, as well as Blueron®, the bio-compatible capsule
dye, for cataract surgery.

MEGATRON® S3
The microprocessor controlled ophthalmic surgical system for
the anterior and posterior segment of the eye meets the highest
quality standards regarding functionality and user-friendliness.
Through its modular design the MEGATRON® S3 features the
utmost flexibility for all kinds of surgeons’ preferences.
The MEGATRON® S3 P features an advanced peristaltic pump
ideally suited for cataract surgery and especially for high vacuum
phaco techniques. The integrated venturi effect offers excellent
followability of nuclear fragments and venturi-like vacuum
control for vitreoretinal surgery.
The MEGATRON® S3 V uses a venturi pump with adjustable rise
time for controlled vacuum response. Its aspiration characteristics
make it the top choice for vitreoretinal surgeons.
The MEGATRON® S3 VIP offers a unique dual peristaltic/
venturi aspiration system which combines the advantages
of both pump types. The surgeon can switch from venturi
to peristaltic or vice versa intraoperatively.
Significant enhancements to these systems provide
