The Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation Department
invites you to “Meet us on the West End” on October 5th
to discover West Franklin Street and celebrate the
diversity of our community! The 36th Annual Festifall
Street Fair will feature handmade crafts by local artists,
an abundance of children's
activities, talented musicians
on four stages, and a great
time for the entire
family. Chapel Hill
demonstrates a diverse
community as reflected throughout the fair.
Over 70 arts and crafts vendors will offer a colorful
array of wares, highlighting many different art mediums
as well as cultural backgrounds. Oil paintings by a
Peruvian artist, Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, Ecuadorian
art, and henna body art are just a few. The West End will
transform into a cultural gathering place where
participating artists display their artistic contributions
and community members have an opportunity to
appreciate and purchase them. Fair artists will display
pottery, jewelry, birdhouses, watercolors, glass tile
mosaics, bottle cap art, soy candles, wool rugs, handbags,
hemp apparel and much more!
Town Departments will
provide information on
services provided for local
citizens. Non-profit
organizations will share
information on a variety of
activities for fairgoers and will include face painting,
games, and tons of free giveaways!
Four separate stages will showcase music and
entertainment for everyone. Kids will
be delighted with performances by
songs in American sign language, and
music with Suzanne, while the adults
can rock out to covers and originals at
the main stage, or enjoy local folk
music and inspirational artists at the
center stage and inspirational stage.
Let the map at the end of this guide show
you where you can enjoy lunch with local restaurants
along West Franklin Street. The wonderfully cultural and
often local tastes of Chapel Hill might include a slice of
pizza from Italian Pizzaria III, or a “shwarma” from
Mediterranean Deli. And don't forget to sample one of
Carolina Brewery's hand-crafted brews! Enjoy live
entertainment after the festivities.
