Malaria diagnostic centers were established in 10 of the 11 RHUs. Functional Barangay malaria microscopists and RDTBHWs in strategic locations. Active MAC & BAC in all endemic towns. Over 24,000 insecticidetreated bed nets were distributed in 2008. More are given in 2009 establishing a 1:3 family member-bed net ratio. Malaria border operation approach was adopted between Agusan del Norte and Sur towns. established linkage with Schisto Research Hospital in Palo for the COPT. Filaria infection were treated during the annual Mass Drug Administration. All schistosomiasis & heterophydiasis cases were treated with Praziquantel. (Prov’ (Prov’l. Resolution 3192009 ) DOTS approach is adopted in all RHUs and one (1) PPMD unit established as a reference center at the PHO. Social hygiene capability are being beefed up in STI affected areas. Information campaign, counseling & contact tracing were done both in communities & schools. MLGUs appropriated funds to buy antibiotics for ARI cases and chlorine to disinfect contaminated water Provincial sources. Waterworks functional water-testing laboratory (for bacteriology).
