TCA CONVENTION CARS 2017
TCA CONVENTION CARS 2017
MTH O scale Flatcar with
PPG Trailer, Norfolk
Southern and CSX
For the scale operator, the popular
line of scale flatcars with a trailer
load is being offered again. This year the
trailer is based on PPG’s very attractive corporate show truck.
The trailer features a waving American flag on its side with the
PPG corporate logo incorporated into the artwork. The flatcar
will be offered in both Norfolk Southern and CSX, as they both
serve Pittsburgh. All of this year’s flatcars will be offered in two
different road names and/or road numbers, and each car’s
variations can be purchased as a set as well as individually.

MTH “027” Flatcar with Military Jeep Load,
Pennsylvania and B&O Lines
The origins of the world-famous “Jeep” date back to 1940,
when the United States Government (preparing for possible
involvement in the war in Europe) requested bids for a
prototype four-wheel-drive reconnaissance car. The first
prototype was built by the American Bantam Car Company in
Butler, PA, near Pittsburgh. To build a mass-production
version, American Bantam, Willys-Overland and Ford were
contracted to build thousands of these vehicles, and they
had long service lines. Offered in Pennsylvania and B&O rail
lines, and as a set of both.
Jeep styles and/or
colors may vary
from those shown

American Flyer by Lionel S Gauge
Flatcar with Die-Cast Vehicle Load
The postwar version of this flatcar was offered
with plastic abstract versions of this worldfamous vehicle. To provide a unique car for TCA
members, this new version will feature scale
3/16” diecast vehicles. There will be two car
numbers offered—16001 & 16002—available
individually or as a set.
Road number 16002 also available!
MTH S Scale Harmony Creamery Reefer
For those that remember their convention car history,
this car was offered by Lionel in O scale and Standard
Gauge by the Fort Pitt Division for the TCA 50th
Anniversary convention. Due to the popularity of that car,
it will be offered to S gauge collectors. The MTH offering is
geared more towards the scale S collector and will have
all the detail and scale features of its O scale predecessor.

Lionel by MTH Standard Gauge Heinz Pickle Car
Heinz started delivering pickles in tank cars in 1894. This
particular design dates from 1902 and was used as late as
1950. The prototype lends itself perfectly to the tinplate
tradition with this authentic and colorful paint scheme.
While Lionel has offered several variations of the Heinz
Pickle car in O scale, this is the first time a car of this type
has been offered in Standard Gauge.
The HEINZ, 57 and Keystone trademarks are registered trademarks of
H.J. Heinz US Brands LLC and are used with permission.
All cars & artwork shown are pre-production; Actual models may differ
