We are extremely excited about the opportunity to
serve our faculty and staff with an amazing list of training opportunities. This year we will be utilizing PD360
to register for professional development courses. Using the online reservation system will provide you the
opportunity to select the date and the training that best
fits in your schedule. You will have the opportunity to
book your trainings in advance and to receive an email
reminder prior to your scheduled professional development workshop.
All attendees are asked to be on time and present for
the entire course. In order for a class to make the

deadline to sign up for a course will be the Friday prior
to the course date. Upon successful completion of a
course all attendees will receive a $50 stipend.

1. Login to your PD360 account. The following link will
take you to the site http://www.pd360.com.
2. Once you have logged in select HOME and MY
Portfolio.
3. Select the Catalogs tab. Under My Catalogs select the 2013-2014 Professional Development catalog.
4. Register for your course .
To Unregister for a Course
The user will follow these steps to remove their registration:
1. Click Home
2. Click My Portfolio
3. Click Transcript tab
4. Scroll to the right to find a "Remove" button next to the course to
delete registration

This training is designed to give the teachers the basics needed to turn on their
projector and get students utilizing the SMART Board. We will cover hardware
and basic functionality as well as how to start using the Smart Notebook software. We will also cover where teachers can find ready made resources to use
on their SMART Board.

This SMART Board training session provides in-depth information about
SMART Notebook 11 collaborative learning software and how to use it to create
a more interactive lesson activity. Focus will be on creating critical thinking lessons. Participants will learn best practices for teaching with an interactive whiteboard. Discover the differences between using Notebook software to create
presentations in advance and using the software spontaneously in your classroom.

This course provides attendees with an introduction to Microsoft Excel that will
allow them to understand how the software functions. The course will familiarize students with some basic Excel functions such as data entry, formatting
and editing data, using basic formulas, and creating simple graphs.

This course provides attendees the opportunity to move beyond the basic use
of Microsoft Excel. The course will familiarize students with advanced formatting and formulas, data and mail merge techniques. This will be a hands-on

teachers will learn methods to promote a classroom culture conducive to increase student learning and how to set parameters which are easy to manage
and minimize the chances of sending mixed messages to students. The target audience for this session is elementary teachers.

The Classroom Management Series is based upon the Fred Jones model of
creating a positive classroom environment for student learning. Have you ever
wondered, "How can I turn this student's behavior around?" In this session
teachers will learn how to leverage student cooperation to increase positive
behaviors while decreasing unwanted behaviors.

Get the most out of technology with the SAMR model. This course is designed
to provide participants the foundation to increase the level of technology usage
in the classroom. We will cover multiple web 2.0 tools and strategies on implementation. In this course educators will lean how to select appropriate tools,
plan their usage, and design metrics for results as part of a single integrated
process.

What is My Big Campus (MBC) and why should every teacher use MBC? We
will walk you through the basics of MBC. Participants will learn how to find and
share resources, find out how you can communicate with all members of your
groups at once, and discover ways to save time and paper with online assignments, quizzes, documents, and more.

Drive is all about. We will cover topics such as "How do I create a document?",
"How do I upload WORD documents?", "How do I access my Drive?". Other
topics will include, "What is a presentation?", "How do I share what I have created with my colleagues?", and "Why should I use GOOGLE Chrome?".

Solving word problems is an integral part of the common core curriculum. In
this course, participants will identify and practice additional ways of solving
word problems using Greg Tang techniques (part/part/whole method and bar
method).

Movie Making in
the Classroom
In order for students to be prepared for a more complex life and work environment a 21st century classroom must promote creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Technology tools allow students to create with
video, audio, text, and images provide an opportunity to enhance higher order
thinking skills. Participants will explore a variety of resources for planning and
creating multimedia projects. Participants develop podcasts, online storybooks,
and videos, becoming media producers, not just consumers. Come with ideas,
leave with a digital story of your own.

AppTivities for iPad

This course is designed for the teacher who is already familiar with iPad operation, but would like some guidance and best practices for integrating the iPad
with instruction. Participants in this class will learn how to teach with an iPad,
including using tools for lesson planning, assignments, submission of student
work, assessment, and using iPad apps as learning objects. Participants are
encouraged to bring app ideas and/or lesson plans in which use of the iPad,
apps, and other tools can be explored to build deeper understanding and
greater engagement for students. iPads will not be provided for use in class.
Participants will need to bring their own iPad.
