Two green side bunkers guard the green on the left side. A very demanding tee shot to a narrow fairway. Players who hit a good driver here will have about 100-120 yards to the green. #2 3 160 Another straight away hole surrounded by four bunkers. Club selection will be anywhere from a 7 to 8 iron. Rule of this hole, don’t be long on your tee shot!!! Out of bounds down left side. Slight dogleg right. From the blue tees, it is a very difficult shot through a narrow gap of trees. Hit a good tee shot and you are rewarded. A very large fairway bunker down the left side protects the fairways as well as out of bounds left. After your drive, players will be left with a short iron into the green, which is safeguarded by a grass bunker left and a sand trap front right. Par is good here. 422 #4 5 451 This is a “risk reward” hole. Your tee shot is crucial as it is heavily marked with ponds left and right. Hit a good drive and only have 180-200 on your approach. The next shot is uphill with a pond green side left. Birdie is a great score as this is the smallest green on the course to hit. Anything long is dead. #5 5 576 A long Par 5 — extremely hard to hit in two. A straight drive is necessary. After tee shot, you will be left with 250-280 yds. To a green with bunkers left and right and trouble left and right. Difficult to get the ball up and down. #6 4 438 Sharp dogleg left. Requires a draw off the tee with a distance controlled second shot to a wellguarded green. Two deep bunkers short of the green, make it difficult to get up and down. Par is a fantasy if you go too long. #7 3 178 A long Par 3 over the water with bunkers left and right with water long. A two-tiered green makes it very hard to make birdie depending on where the pin is located. Iron selection of 6 or 7 depends on the wind which is usually coming out of the south. #8 4 446 Hardest hole on the course with a blind tee shot to a narrow fairway, which is shielded by a bunker you can’t see from the tee. Tee shot should be left to right, and hopefully 110-120 from the green. Two bunkers left and right shadow the green making par difficult. #9 4 374 A Par 4 uphill to the clubhouse. Two fairway bunkers on each side of the fairway are very reachable off the tee. Club selection should be the 3-wood and not driver to avoid the bunkers. Second shot should be left with 100-110 yds. to a flat green. Out 36 3413 One of the toughest back nines in the state of Arkansas. [email protected] Paradise Valley Golf & Athletic Club features a meandering creek that comes into play on at least five holes on the back nine. Gently sloping greens that can trick even the seasoned player are just part of the challenge. Significant elevation changes dramatically affect shotmaking decisions on several holes. Numerous mature pine and oak trees line fairways throughout the course to catch errant tee shots. Golfers that are on their game are rewarded with low scores, but even those not playing their best, will enjoy their day at Paradise Valley. Total Yardage Course Rating / Slope Blue Championship 6964 73.8 / 131 White - Men 6169 70.6 / 126 Gold - Seniors 5188 66.2 / 117 Red - Ladies 4614 63.3 / 112 Tees Yards 4 Par #3 Hole 3728 Old Missouri Road Fayetteville, AR 72703 479.521.5841 #1 Legend #10 4 444 A downhill Par 4 dogleg left from an elevated tee shot. The hardest driving hole on the course. Tee shot should be a big high draw down the left side of the tree line. Anything left of the trees is out of bounds. 2nd shot should be 150-165 yds. to a small green with water on right. Tough to hit. Par is a good score. #11 4 394 90 degree dogleg left up the hill with a fairway bunker straight away. Unless you hit a driver or 3-wood to corner of dogleg (250-265 yds), you have no shot. 2nd shot is all uphill to a tough green with a bunker to the right. Again par is a good score. #12 4 441 The beginning of what we refer to as the “Amen Corner” —holes 12-14. A straight away par 4. OB left and trouble right. There’s a small creek 300 yds off the tee, but only long hitters will back off to a 3-wood. 2nd shot should be 130-160. The two-level green surrounded by bunkers and a deep rough is very hard to reach. #13 3 220 A hard Par 3 over water with a difficult hole to get close to. A southwest wind will determine the choice of a 3 or 4 iron. If you hit the green the battle is won. Miss the green and you will be left with a hard chip shot out of deep rough. #14 4 396 Only hole with in-course out-of-bounds—from tee shot only, left of the creek is considered OB. Use a 3-iron or higher with a draw over the trees on the right side of the creek leaving 160-175 yds. to a very small sloping green, Heavy rough makes par almost impossible. Has the reputation of the hardest hole. #15 4 415 Widest driving hole on the course, OB left and long. Players can “grip it and rip it” on this hole. 2nd shot should be 110-120 yds. to a narrow green with a downhill slope. Can be hard to get close, depends on pin placement. A good 2nd shot can bring a birdie. #16 3 233 Hardest Par 3 you will ever play. Long iron to 3-wood has been played here. Elevated tee shot over water with bunker left of the green. Always very windy. Not much you can say here, it is just a hard hole. Make it in 3 and you’ll feel you’ve made a hole-in-one!! #17 5 560 Straight away shot with a creek down left side and a pond right. Wide fairway means you can really bust it of the tee. Requires two well executed shots to get home to a very small punishing green overcome with bunkers. Birdie is a good score. #18 4 448 Long and strong with an uphill battle. OB down the left side and the driving range on the right (not OB!) Ideal tee shot is 265-285, approach will be 125-140 to an uphill sloping green that is difficult to get close to. Par is a good score. In 35 3551 Totals 71 6964 Directions From I-540, merge onto Highway 71B exit 67 toward NWA Mall. Then, merge onto 71B North. Turn Right at light onto Joyce Boulevard.
