Welcome to our new Holiday Brochure of 2016.
As always I like to start by saying a massive thank you to all of our customers for supporting our holiday
programme for the previous year. Demand was “to full capacity” on many of our popular tours and the
positive feedback received was tremendous. We in the office heard many stories of good times and fun,
which is nice, knowing we are creating happy memories. All our team strives to enhance and give the
best service possible, from the initial booking to delivering a great holiday experience. Plus being local,
we are on hand for even the smallest of queries to be overseen. Also in the background are the
maintenance checks on our fleet of coaches which are to a high standard, with safety and comfort always
uppermost in our minds.
For 2016 we are offering new destinations, tours from the past, plus repeat favourites, all featuring first
rate itineraries and places of interest.
Again we are running our annual competition for all those booking and paying a £30.00 holiday deposit

A popular return to Holland for a visit to the world famous Bulbfields.

Our first visit to this popular modern hotel which is located on the outskirts of Amsterdam. It has modern
decor, attractive bar, terrace, and restaurant. Each of the 87 bedrooms has hairdryer, TV, safe, and tea/coffee

Day 2: Visit to Keukenhof Gardens, named after the Countess of Holland, Jacoba van Beiren. The 80 acre
site features a dazzling display of tulips, narcissi, daffodils and hyacinths, to name but a few. In the indoor
pavilions, you can find a permanent orchid display and the largest lily parade in the world. Why not take a trip
on the "Whisper Boat" around the gardens, (supplement applies)?

Day 3: A full day in Amsterdam, to enjoy Holland's cosmopolitan capital. See Dam Square, wander along the

7 Day Tour – GREAT HIGHLAND RAILWAYS, SCOTLAND

Michael's Portillo's "Great Railways Journeys" television series has rekindled our romance with railway
journeys as this holiday demonstrates. Our railway adventure includes scenery in areas of Scotland that are
dramatic in different ways from the northern shoreline on the Far North Line to Thurso and the breathtakingly
beautiful line to Kyle of Lochalsh.
Day 1: Travel to Lancaster staying at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
Day 2: Cross the border into Scotland and to Aviemore for a train ride on the nostalgic Strathspey Railway
to Broomhill. Onwards travel to our hotel in Beauly.
The Priory Hotel is situated in the picturesque village square of Beauly. This traditional village hotel has been

Day3: Today we travel to Thurso, a remote Georgian town. After lunch we shall enjoy a ride on the Far North
Line, the northern most railway in the United Kingdom. Experience the dramatic scenery of the moors
followed by the eastern coastline. The coach will meet the train at Dingwall and return to our hotel.
Day 4: A full day in Inverness.
Day 5: The highlight for most will be today's journey on one of the world's finest coast to coast railway
journeys to the Kyle of Lochalsh, overlooking the Isle of Skye. This is one of the most scenic rail journeys in
the United Kingdom. The coach will meet the train and return to our hotel via Loch Ness.
Day 6: Start return journey home staying at the Holiday Inn, Lancaster.
Day 7: Return to Waterside.

Day 2: We shall take a train ride on the North Norfolk Railway (The Poppy Line) from Holt, a pretty

of Burnham Market.
Day 3: We travel to Wroxham for a relaxing cruise on the Norfolk Broads. In the afternoon, we visit

Day 2: Today enjoy a classic rail journey on the Settle - Carlisle Railway. This line is considered the most
scenic rail journey in England and winds through moorland scenery over the Ribblehead Viaduct. We board

for lunch. Our return journey to the hotel skirts The Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Day 3: Today we travel to Skipton, the Gateway to the Dales. Wednesday is market day in the town, first
founded over 800 years ago, held beneath the impressive medieval castle.
After lunch we take a barge ride along the Leeds – Liverpool Canal (includes tea/coffee & biscuits), before
returning to the hotel.
Day 4: We take a trip to Summer Wine Country - Holmfirth, a quirky and lovely market town, is home to
Nora Batty's steps, Sid's Cafe and Compo's former home which is now the Last of the Summer Wine
Exhibition and Wrinkled Stocking Tea Room. A stop at the Oswaldwhistle factory shop on our return to the
hotel.

The wine making village of Losnich is the perfect location from which to tour the beautiful Moselle Valley,
from Trier in the south to Koblenz in the north.
Our hotel enjoys a lovely view over the river and the vineyards beyond. It has a lift, 43 bedrooms, each

Day 1: Travel via Eurotunnel through France for late afternoon arrival at the Hotel Heil, Losnich, Germany.

Day 2 - 4: We have included trips to:
- The picturesque village of Cochem with its half-timbered houses and its beautiful medieval castle,
Schloss Reichsburg. There is also an early 19th century mustard mill which is the perfect place to
purchase some exceptional gourmet mustards.
- On the morning, we will travel southwards along the river valley to the enchanting medieval wine
village of Bernkastel-Kues where we pay a visit to the fascinating Moselle Wine Museum. After
lunch we will make our way to the ancient Roman city of Trier. In this city there is the famous Roman
gate, Porta Nigra and the 4th century Roman Basilica.
- Our final trip is to the ancient Roman town of Koblenz which is framed by four mountain ranges
where the Moselle and Rhine meet. Castles and palaces, fortresses and towers, beautifully restored
house fronts and pretty traditional shops make it a special place.

Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Henry V, this town boasts a whole host of historical sites, and
buildings, from the Nelson Garden to The Town Hall. It has a medieval 13th-century bridge over the River
Monnow, unique in Britain as it is the only preserved bridge of its design remaining. After lunch, we travel to
Symonds Yat West for a 40 minute cruise along the River Wye.
Day 3: Explore the twists and turns of the Wye Valley culminating in magnificent ruins of Tintern Abbey.
We travel south to the historic walled town of Chepstow which is dominated by the oldest surviving stone
castle in Britain. In the afternoon, we take a round trip with the Dean Forest Railway#.
Day 4: Our final day is a full day visit to the beautiful cathedral city of Hereford. This magnificent
Cathedral dates from 1079 and is therefore one of the oldest in Britain. The city has the highest concentration of

Blackpool Illuminations are an annual lights festival founded in 1879, held each autumn in this seaside resort
on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire.
Also known locally as The Lights, they run each year for sixty six days, from late August until early

million bulbs.

Bookings are accepted by Waterside Tours on the following conditions:
Provisional bookings made by telephone or at our office will be held for 14 days. The booking form should then be completed
with a deposit of £30.00 per person to confirm your booking. Waterside Tours cannot guarantee to reserve seats if not
confirmed within 14 days.
Booking terms & conditions
This booking is issued subject to The Company reserving the right to cancel any Excursion due to insufficient passengers,
inclement weather or any other circumstances beyond our control. Times of departure or return cannot be guaranteed, but
will always be as near to the time stated as possible. All fares are due at the time of reserving the seat. No reservations can be
guaranteed until full fare has been paid. The Company will not be responsible for passengers left behind because they are not
in attendance at specific time of departure. In cases where doubt does exist as to a customer’s fitness to travel medical
evidence maybe required.
Balances & Luggage
Payments of balance are due eight weeks before departure. Reminders are not issued
And we will only acknowledge receipt of balances if accompanied by an s.a.e. Departure times are usually telephoned 7 days
before departure if not stated at time of booking. All luggage must be labelled with Waterside Tour's labels and restricted to
a maximum of 18kg; whilst we take every care we cannot accept responsibility for accidental damage or loss during handling
or transit. Few travel insurance policies provide cover for luggage or personal belongs left on an unattended vehicle
overnight. You should take all personal belongings with you at stopover hotels.
Change of booking
If you wish to change any details of your booking, we will do our best to assist. Normally a £10.00 per person fee is payable to
cover administration costs. Alterations made later than the original balance due date will be treated as a cancellation and will
be subject to a cancellation fee.
Holiday changes
This brochure is correct at time of going to print. We reserve the right to amend the program of any holiday in this brochure
due to prevailing circumstances at the discretion of Waterside Tours. Should a significant change involving your departure
dates, resort area which reduces the quality of your main hotel (not single stopover hotels), change of tour itinerary to a main
destination the following options are available: 1) Continue with the amended holiday. 2) Accept an alternative holiday. 3)
Cancel your tour. If options 1 or 2 are chosen we will compensate to the scale below. If option 3 is chosen we will refund all
monies paid by you and compensate to the scale below. No other claims for compensation or expenses will be considered.

Our cancellation of holiday
Under special circumstances we may wish to cancel your holiday. The implementing of the holidays in this brochure is subject
to a minimum number of persons booking each holiday. If we have to cancel we will either return all your paid monies or
offer an alternative suitable holiday. We will not normally cancel a holiday after the date on which the balance is due unless a)
You have not paid in full or b) Your holiday is influenced by events beyond our control such as war; riots; civil strife;
terrorist activities; natural disasters; fires; epidemics; bad weather; transport technical problems and port etc. closures. We
will only be liable for monies paid to us at the time of cancellation.
Delays
In the unlikely event of a delay of more than six hours to the given holiday running times every effort will be made to
minimise your discomfort and where available refreshments will be provided.
Passports & Visas
A full ten-year passport is required for all Continental travel. Visas are not required by British passport holders. Any nonEC passport holders may be subject to visa requirements and should check with the appropriate embassies. We cannot accept
responsibility for any passengers who are not in possession of their personal travel documents.
Other information
A list of our main pick up points are available from our main Hythe office, although under certain circumstances we do pick
up at certain other places in the area. In all cases we pick up at named bus stops only and passengers are set down at the
points at which they joined the coach. Door to door personal pick-ups can be arranged. To help with prompt departures and
avoid any inconvenience to passengers on occasions a feeder vehicle may be used from one or more departure points.

It is advisable to carry an E111 form (obtainable from the post office) for any EU tours.
Currency
It is advisable to exchange all monies 7 days prior to your date of travel. Most EU countries now deal in Euros, Switzerland
and other non EU countries still require there own currency. Please ask if you are unsure.
Credit cards are widely accepted across Europe
Travel
Departure times will be telephoned through approximately 1 week before the start of your holiday with us. This coach will
have on board, drinks machine, air conditioning and toilet facilities. However ample comfort stops are made during travel
but do vary in length depending on road conditions. Journey times between stops are approximately of 2 and a half hours
duration again subject to road conditions. For the comfort of all our passengers, all coaches are non-smoking. Bought hot
food is also not to be taken aboard.
Disabled clients
If you feel you can manage the coach and have a travelling companion to accompany and help when it is needed, you are most
welcome. Folding wheel chairs, frames etc., can be carried but please advise us as soon as possible to allocate luggage space.
Medication
Customers travelling abroad with us are strongly advised to carry an up to date list of their current prescribed medication. If
medicines have to be replaced abroad, you should be aware that not all UK prescriptions are available and suitable alternatives will
need to be provided.
Other information
The driver is the company’s tour representative. Should any difficulties arise during the tour, please ask his/her assistance.

Packed lunches are normally available from the hotels on request. Please ask at the hotel reception. Food should not be taken
from the dining areas of the hotels.
