Flotation Technology is a new concept in container gardening that significantly reduces plant
maintenance. A specially designed planting container sits comfortably inside a flotation collar to create the
Floating Island. The Islands can be housed in any style decorative container that holds water. The decorative
container functions as the water reservoir for the Floating Island.
It is the ultimate self watering design.
Three simple components are the foundation to display the most attractive self contained, self watering
patio and deck combinations, that once created require almost no regular care or maintenance.
The Floating Island Sizes range from 5” to 24” outside diameter.
5” & 9” diameter
16” Sundial
12”,16”,20” & 24” diameter
The Island Grow Mix - A special mix created to provide the optimum float level and plant performance
no matter which Island size you choose. One and three gallon boxes available.
Landon’s Fertilizer - A season long, slow release fertilizer specific to a wet environment.
10-10-10 2 oz., 1 lb. and 3 lb. packages.

Keys to success Plant Selection Choose any annuals, perennials, ferns, herbs, ornamental grasses or aquatic plants that are moisture
loving or moisture tolerant like . . . Alocasia, Bacopa, Baumea, Begonia, Caladium, Canna, Carex, Coleus,
Colocasia, Cypewrus, Equisetum, Houttuynia, Hydrocotyle and others listed on our “Proven Plants List”
. . . have all been used successfully. Experiment!
Selecting your decorative containers The inside diameter of the decorative display container should be a minimum of 2” larger than the
outside diameter of the Floating Island. Example: you’ve chosen a 16” Floating Island. The decorative
container you choose to display it in must measure at least 18” across the inside.
Containers that are not glass or plastic should have a glazed interior to prevent water loss.

Cylindrical or pudgy containers are recommended since they allow the Island to rise and fall freely within the
reservoir. This also reduces the frequency of adding water.
