Hotel Information
A port town, Portimão is known for its fish restaurants and shopping. The former
cluster around the dock though its once-famous old-style eateries have been
replaced by modern outlets. Boat trips also depart from the quayside. Portimao is
the regional shopping centre, noted for leather, shoes and clothes, and its weekly
market attracts large crowds. Portimão and its municipality have more to offer.
A rich heritage of historical monuments. The eternal natural beauty of the Ria de
Alvor. The charm of cultivated fields, of slopes covered with pine trees and wild
flowers with the allure of walking up into the hills and looking down on the
Algarve from a new perspective. Portimão has the cosmopolitan atmosphere of
an international tourist destination.
Directions from Faro Airport (closest airport for Portimao – 60 km and
approx 50 minute drive)

head towards Portimão (A 22) until the exit for Portimão. Head for Portimão
Centro/Praia da Rocha going through the Cardosas tunnel which joins the V6.
Continue on the V6 but now heading towards Praia da Rocha. Go straight across
the first roundabout (Modelo Supermarket on your left, McDonalds on your
right), go straight across the second roundabout and then on to the roundabout
which has a small fountain and is next to the sea. Turn left here and follow the
signs to Marina de Portimão.
