Silicone Carving Implant to be used as an accessory during reconstruction of the female
breast. Use of this silicone pre-form minimizes the need for harvesting additional tissues
from the patient (such as cartilage and darker tissue) to construct a visually acceptable
replacement nipple. The implant should be placed under the skin and above the breast
implant. The s'tin should be draped over the implant to conform to the shape of the
"nipple". Cosmetic tattooing should be used to mimic the darker tissue of the normal
nipple-areola complex. This should allow very close color matching to the opposite
nipple-areola complex in the case of a unilateral mastectomy as well as the patients skin
tone. The texture of the implant will hold the implant in place. The surgeon may request
suture tabs for a "belt and suspender" approach should he/she feel it necessary. Available
sizes are noted above and custom sizes available upon request

Some short -term applications are nasal splinting, wound dressing, scar coverings, temporary use in
TMJ Disease, temporary joint shims, laboratory uses, and other uses deemed appropriate by the treatmg surgeon.
Some long-term applications are nasal septal repair, orbital floor reconstruction, tympanic membrane
repair, dialysis shunt anchoring, dural repair, staged repair of omphalocoel, lengthening of extraocular muscles, tendon and nerve anastomosis, facilitation of osteogenesis or guided tissue regeneration, and other uses deemed appropriate by the treating surgeon.

AART Silicone Tubing is manufactured from medical grade silicone elastomer intended for both shortterm and long-term applications. AART Silicone Tubing is essentially non-reactive to body tissue and
fluids, soft and pliable with a moisture resistant surface, has a long shelf life, may be bonded to itself
and is nonadherent to tissue.
AART Silicone Tubing may be used for perfusion and other circulatory blood handling procedures,
suction drainage of surgical wounds, prolonged dialysis or drainage of the peritoneal cavity, temporary
tube gastrostomy following abdominal surgery, long-term implantation applications within the body,
peristaltic pump and laparascopic insufflation, connecting glass tubing of different bores, and other

Dimisil Scar Gel is specifically formulated for the topical
management of Keloid Scars and Hypertrophic Scars secondary
to trauma of the skin by surgery, burns, abrasions, or lacerations.
Patient Directions:
Wash the affected area and pat dry. Apply a very small amount
of Dimisil Scar Gel with a clean fingertip on the affected area.
Take care to gently wipe away the excess. Use sparingly as
excessive amounts may stain bedding or clothing. Apply twice
daily in the morning and before bedtime. Once the affected area
is no longer tacky to the touch Dimisil may be covered with a

cosmetic foundation or other camouflaging cosmetic.
Warning:
Care should be.exercised to avoid getting Dimisi! Scar Gel in
he eyes or nfucous membranes. Care should be taken when using

Scar Gel be used under the supervision of a surgeon or licensed

What factors are needed to heal scars?
Hydration - Damaged skin loses water more rapidly. Hydration reduces water vapor
ands restores the homeostatic (return to normal body state) process in the scar
Warmth - maintaining constant temperate controls hydration and healing
Oxygen - oxygen is needed for continued healing and circulation
Proper wound care - proper and consistent wound care
How does it work?
Silicone Sheeting and Gels
By providing hydration, warmth, and electrostatic energy to reduce inflammation, cover
up and allow oxygen t9 flow through to aid in scar healing.
How soon can the patient begin using the scar gel?
Dimisil@cannot be used on an open wound. You can begin using DimisilTM generally
within two weeks of injury or surgery or once the site has healed close. The sooner the
process is begun the sooner results will be seen.
How long before the patient sees results?
Depends on the skin type, age of the scar, type of scar, patient's history of keloiding, etc.
No matter how old the scar, the patient should see improvement within 90 days. A 10-ml
tube will last about 90 days on a 3 to 4 inch scar. Some see results in a couple days,
some take weeks. For deeper more persistent scars, the patient may wear the gel sheet
for 8 to 10 hours (at night) and then apply the scar gel twice during the day.
DIMISIL ® GEL SHEETING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does a sheet last?
It depends on where you are wearing it and how long. The gel sheet is usable until the
tackiness or gel side wears off. Some have been known to last for 3 to 6 months.
How do I clean it?
Rinse with clear water. Do not use soap. When the gel sheeting is wet, it will be
slippery. When the sheet is dry, the tackiness will return.
How do I keep the gel sheeting on the scar?
Unless you are wearing the gel sheet under your bra, you will probably have to purchase
tape for sensitive skin at the drugstore.

Silicone Carving Implant to be used as an accessory during reconstruction of the female
breast. Use of this silicone pre-form minimizes the need for harvesting additional tissues
from the patient (such as cartilage and darker tissue) to construct a visually acceptable
replacement nipple. The implant should be placed under the skin and above the breast
implant. The skin should be draped over the implant to conform to the shape of the
“nipple”. Cosmetic tattooing should be used to mimic the darker tissue of the normal
nipple-areola complex. This should allow very close color matching to the opposite
nipple-areola complex in the case of a unilateral mastectomy as well as the patient’s skin
tone. The texture of the implant will hold the implant in place. The surgeon may request
suture tabs for a “belt and suspender” approach should he/she feel it necessary. Available
sizes are noted above and custom sizes available upon request.
