DE CE FIERBE COPILUL ÎN MĂMĂLIGĂ
A family of circus artists escapes from
the Ceausescu dictatorship to the West
in the early 1980s. Once here, if they
want to stay in the ring, they have to
come up with something exotic. The
mother devises a special act: she hangs
by her hair in the circus dome. Her
daughter Aglaja gets terribly worried that
her mother will fall to her death, and
this fear becomes an everyday burden.
Yet one day, she herself becomes “The
Woman with Hair of Steel”.

In a country where stories of
striking it rich are everywhere,
everyone thinks such a thing is easily
achievable. The storyline follows
two destinies: one is of a young
couple, Marius and Cosmina. Marius
wrote a false name on a cigarettes
raffle ticket, he wins the lottery. The
other story follows two adults who,
because of their lack of computer
knowledge, get fooled by a false
online lottery. When the stories
finally meet, it could be too late for a
happy ending.

In the 60’s Romania, Serafim, a

In 1986, the architect Andrei calls the Police to notify
that his wife Sonia is missing. All efforts to find her
seem to be useless and Andrei rebuilds his life with

In the labyrinth of water that makes up
Romania’s Danube Delta lies Europe’s
largest wetland, a lost paradise and

through the eyes of Ivan, a village
