Mountaineer Trout Farm, LLC

Unprecedented increase in
production cost.
 Oxygen cost went up >8.5%
 Feed cost increased 20.4%

As a result wholesale trout prices will
increase to $2.00/lb versus $1.75/lb in
late 2011. This price increase still
leaves Mountaineer with tighter profit
margins than in 2011.

Trout in the Family Room
Robert Slider, Fairmont




Water well dug prior to 1900
(originally drinking water
source) The well is 18 feet
deep and keeps about 10 feet
of water.
Temperature 61 - 63 F year
round.
The inside 'pond' is in the
family room and is 6 feet long,
3 feet wide, and 28 inches
deep. It holds 260 gallons of
water.
Water is filtered as it is
pumped into the 'pond'. An
overflow drains the water
back into the well. So it is a
flow-thru system. The 'pond'
contains two aerators.



Provide guide service in the area and have a fee fishing pond to




Price went up to $4.50/lb.

Cleaning fees increased to $2/fish gutted or filleted.

Mitigation plan has been set, now must find a way to monitor and
report for the next 4 years.
