media outlet picked up the fight against Stephen
Harper’s government unwillingness to overhaul
Canada’s Last Post Fund.
As a funeral director you are most certainly aware
of the obstacles put in place by government when
called upon to serve a Veteran of Canada’s Armed
Forces.
If you are a member of Funeral Service Association
of Canada you are also aware that FSAC has been
lobbying government for the much needed increase
to the funds made available by Last Post Fund.
Prime Minister Harper has remained dismissive
and seems unwilling to discuss when questioned by
media and by government opposition.
On the other side, FSAC, and the Last Post Fund
committee, are vocal when it comes to creating
awareness in regards to the on-going fight for
fairness pertaining to funding for Veterans funerals.

Government Relations Chair, Funeral Service

Veterans Affairs have recognized this as an important
concern, and the current government has the
mandate to act.”
The Last Post Fund is a non-profit organization
that offers financial benefits for funeral related
expenses to eligible veterans and disability
pensioners. Despite a constant rise in funeral costs,
funding rate levels for the Last Post Fund have
remained constant since 2001. This discrepancy in
funding is making it harder for funeral homes to
provide veterans with the dignified burials they
warrant.

In addition, FrontRunner will now offer a selection of
