IZEST a New Paradigm in Laser and High
Energy Physics
• IZEST is based on large scale facilities
developped over the past 20 years for laser
fusion
• It is also based on the large laser fusion, High
Field Science, Particle Physics communities.
• IZEST benefits from the huge body of works
developped in Laser Plasma Physics over 50
years.

Low Luminosity Paradigm
• Nonlinear Effects in Vacuum
• Dark Energy and Dark Matter
• Physics beyond TeV with the Non-Collider
Paradigm
• TeV-PeV Astrophysics
• Lorentz Invariance (gamma rays, neutrino, ...... )
• as /zs Ultrafast Science

To Reach its Ambitious Goal, IZEST Triggered a
Revolution in
Laser Technology
• Highest Peak Power demands higher damage components: IZEST
introduced damage less optics based on Plasma optics for diffraction
gratings and mirrors:
J/cm2 to 10kJ/cm2
• IZEST works on Laser Acceleration at 100GeV single stage to reach
TeV multistage:
GeV-PeV level
• Scientific and Societal Applications will require much higher and
efficient average power. We invented a new laser Architecture
