AFTC India
By Joppe Leussink
March 1st, 2013.
India is a country of
extremes. Extreme wealth
next to extreme poverty.
Delicious spices, beautiful
landmarks and above all; an
immense population.
Projections show that in 2016
there will be more people in
India than China. As a result,
more and more
manufacturing is done here
and this number will only
increase with the foreseen
economic situation in Europe
and the rest of the western
world.
Over the past years we have
become a key player in the
global acrylic foam tape and
heat activated tape market
with active representation in
over 70 countries and
subsidiaries in the USA,
Russia and Singapore. India
will be the next step into this
direction. Where we first
looked into the possibilities of
a full subsidiary, we quickly
came to the conclusion that
this would be a fruitless and
time consuming exercise.
Our current distributor for
India; SPCMG (Shapoorji
Pallonji Construction Material
Group) is a very well
renowned company in the
Indian building and
construction market. The
increase of (automotive)
manufacturing facilities did
not go unnoticed for the
holding company Shapoorji
Pallonji Ltd. because most of
these sites were built by
them. Local Indian
companies like Tata Motors
and Mahindra, but also
European and American
OEM’s like Volkswagen and
Ford have chosen India as
one of their emerging
markets.
This mutual interest resulted
in the idea of forming a
collaboration of some sort
with AFTC. The combination
of product knowledge from
AFTC and awareness of the
Indian market from SP is
expected to be a golden one
and the decision has been
made to form a joint venture
with Shapoorji Pallonji under
the name AFTC India. We
believe this will be the right
way to establish the AFTC
brand and the best way to
expand our current network
in India.

AFTC USA & LAMATEK Already Seeing Success
By Michael DiCandillo
February 1st, 2013
LAMATEK Inc. headquartered in Forest Park
New Jersey was founded in October of 1983.
Today, LAMATEK is one of the leading
Converters/Foam Fabricators in the
Fenestration market. In an effort to diversify
their business, LAMATEK made the strategic
decision to work with AFTC USA and offer
the SilverTape™ line of acrylic foam tapes.
AFTC USA was excited with LAMATEK’s
decision and according to AFTC USA’s
President & CEO Michael DiCandilo, ‘’Having a
company like LAMATEK as a partner is already
proving to be a mutually beneficial decision.’’
and ‘’Just In Time’’ delivery were included as
part of the customer requirements. LAMATEK
supplied the customer with the AFTC 5305 (20
mil clear) and the 5310 (40 mil clear) and after
both products were tested, the decision to
make the switch was an easy one. The AFTC
5305 and 5310 easily passed all testing criteria
and LAMATEK showed the customer
significant savings. Laura Basara, LAMATEK’s
Vice President commented that, ‘’Having
access to AFTC USA’s extensive SilverTape™
line along with the excellent service LAMATEK
receives, have been critical to LAMATEK’s
success with this product. We are very excited
to work with AFTC USA ’’ says LAMATEK.
The decision to offer AFTC acrylic foam tapes
has already paid off. LAMATEK was recently
contacted by a manufacturer of custom LCD
displays for video gaming. LAMATEK’s
customer, a longtime 3M VHB costumer,
required a smooth and seamless transition
from the 3M VHB 4905 and the 4910.
LAMATEK provided the customer with AFTC
SilverTape™ alternatives where the customer
required a number of custom slit widths with
very tight tolerance. In addition, ‘’off-the shelf’’
