4.1 DESIGN CONCEPT
Philippine Culture/ Bamboo (as a material)
It reflects the complexity of the history of the phillipines through
the belndign of the many diverse traditional malay heritage mixed with
Spanish, American and other asian culture. This is the one thing that
separates us from the rest of the world - our colorful and lively culture that
makes us distinctly Filipino
A concept using a traditional and local material like bamboo
incorporated with a modern twist of technology like combining light metal
elements [tubes /slabs]. Bamboo provides the image of lightness
combined with hardness and greater hollowness and it also provide
stability of the building.
