A Fayette County father is suing an Oak Hill police officer for initiating a vehicle pursuit which lead to his son being fatally injured.
The vehicle his son was a passenger in crashed during the police
chase. Philip Franklin Endicott was killed on January 31, 2016
from injuries received in an auto accident during a police chase
in Oak Hill, WV.
The father of the teen killed, Stephen G. Endicott, filed a lawsuit
in Fayette Circuit Court against the City of Oak Hill and Patrolman
Joshua Jones, both individually and as a police department employee.
According to the lawsuit, at
2am Officer Joshua Jones issued a ticket to the 15-year
old driver of the vehicle that
Philip Endicott was a passenger. Approximately an hour later,
Officer Jones witnessed the same car with the underage driver.
The Oak Hill police officer turned on his blue lights and began to
pursue the vehicle. The driver refused to stop his vehicle in an
attempt to outrun the police.

Due to icy road conditions, Officer Jones terminated the pursuit.
The vehicle continued to travel at a high rate of speed which lead
to the 15-year old driver crashing into a guardrail killing the passenger Philip Endicott.
Stephen Endicott has retained Anthony J. Sparacino, to represent
them in this matter. Auto Guide Deals reached out to The Sparacino Law Firm for comment but no one responded to our messages for a comment.

Don’t pay your bills and you will find yourself in court. The popular
auto parts retailer, Advance Auto Parts, has filed a lawsuit in Raleigh
Circuit Court against Ramey Automotive Group alleging a breach of
contract.
Advance Auto Parts alleges their
customer, Ramey Automotive
Group has not paid their bill under
an agreed credit agreement. According to the complaint, Advance
Auto Parts sold merchandise to
Ramey Auto in a series of transactions in May and June of 2014. Advance Auto Parts now alleges the
auto dealership Ramey Automotive has not paid their bill which is over
$16,000.

Toyota Announces
Another Recall
It seems like a new recall is announced by a major manufacture at least once a month. Add Toyota to the growing
list of automotive recalls. Toyota has announced a 2.87
million vehicle recall due to the possibility that seatbelts
could be damaged by the metal seat frame if involved in a
crash.
Toyota is the world's
biggest-selling
automaker and said that
the global recall involves
its RAV4 SUV model
produced between July
2005 and August 2014 and its Vanguard SUV model produced between October 2005 and January 2016 and sold
in Japan.

The automaker said it would add resin covers to the metal
seat cushion frames on all affected vehicles to prevent any
metal pieces from cutting the seatbelt in the event of a
crash, after it had received two reports in which rear seatbelts separated following crashes. Even though a recall
has been issued, Toyota said it could not determine
whether these incidents were linked to any injuries or fatalities.

Carjacking Suspect Arrested
In the last issue of Auto Guide Deals we published a story about police
searching for a carjacking suspect that started his carjacking rampage
in Putnam County and ended in Kanawha County. We have been informed by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s
Department that a suspect has been
caught and arrested for this crime spree.
A 23-year old man, David Allen Young,
was arrested on January 26th on warrants for two armed robberies. Both of
these crimes were committed in Cross
Lanes during two carjacking incidents a
couple of days prior. Deputies tell Auto
Guide Deals that additional charges are likely to follow.
Detectives with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, Putnam County
Sheriff’s Office, Charleston Police Street Crimes Unit, MDENT, and
Saint Albans Police Department participated in the investigation and
apprehension of David Allen Young.
