Upon arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport this morning a local guide will be waiting to meet you and assist you to the coach. Drive into the City of Light embarking on an introductory Paris city tour featuring the major landmarks of both Right and Left Banks of the Seine. Continue to Bayeux for a tour of this lovely little city and a visit to the historic Bayeux Tapestry. This exquisitely embroidered cloth tells the story of the Norman invasion of England in 1066. Then to Colleville-sur-Mer to visit the moving memorial to the US Forces who gave their lives in the campaign, then pay tribute at the cemetery and visit Omaha Beach. Stop in the charming small town of Villedieu-les-Poeles to see the local industry, the manufacture of copper cooking pans. Then on to Avranches to see the monument for General Patton located on the site of his headquarters during the campaign. Travel west to Mont St Michel, the extraordinary monasteryfortress built on an island on the bay of St. Michel (work is now in progress to remove the causeway and return the Mont to its island status). Visit the Monastery and little town before continuing to your overnight destination, the charming port of St. Malo.
