Page 2 Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe Christ is king of the cosmos over which He has all power, authority and dominion. The catechism instructs that in Christ, “human history, and indeed all creation are ‘set forth’ and transcendently fulfilled.” (668) The feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, marks the Church’s celebration of Christ’s triumph. As faithful disciples, we can rest assured that with him, in him and through him we have a share in his triumph and his glory. November 22, 2015 Gracious and loving God, as the autumn season continues its transformation; and the days become shorter, the earth cooler; as we anticipate joining family and friends in joyful celebration on Thanksgiving Day, we pause to give You thanks and praise for the abundant blessings You have bestowed upon us: For life and health, safety and comfort, food and nourishment, we are sincerely grateful. Through your Spirit, open our hearts so that we may be even better stewards of these rich and unmerited gifts. Show us how to be a blessing for the poor, sick, lonely and all who suffer. And help us nurture the gift of faith, revealed to us by your Son, Jesus Christ, our greatest gift, who reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen. As we celebrate the feast of Christ the King today and look forward to the beginning of Advent next weekend, it seems like a good time to pause and reflect on all the gifts we receive each day through the goodness of Christ our King. These are some words of thanksgiving taken from our Book of Gratitude in the Church. “I give thanks to Jesus for His love for me and my family and for delivering us safely through many trials.” “I give thanks to Jesus for everything— the good and the hardships.” “I give thanks to Jesus for the parents who gave me life even though they are no longer with me. May they rest in peace.” “I give thanks to Jesus for letting me help others.” “I give thanks to Jesus for always keeping us under His protection and for unseen blessings.” “I give thanks to Jesus for blessing me even when I am so faulty.” “I give thanks to Jesus for His mercy that is always with me even in the times that I feel like I’m walking alone.” “I give thanks to Jesus for my faith, family and education. And for a house to live in and for all my blessings.” “I give thanks to Jesus for the Church and my family.” “I give thanks to Jesus for making St. Didacus my home!” “I give thanks to Jesus for the Men’s Prayer Group.” “I give thanks to Jesus for dying for my sins.” Page 3 Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe Mass Intentions Saturday………….........November 21 5:00PM……….…………†Michael Powers Sunday………….....…...November 22 8:30AM……………….…†Carolyn Curiel Hastings 10:00AM………….……..People of St. Didacus 11:30AM………….……..†Angela Armendaris Monday………………...November 23 7:30AM…….……………...†Ethel Huchens Tuesday………..…..….November 24 6:00PM…………............Herminia Brignoni, Spec.
