Yale Center for British Art schematics Introductory statement The Immersion Process The Immersion Process is an overwhelming introduction into architecture – it’s the creation of a library through the utilization of a basic level of knowledge concerning the vast concept itself. Specifically, this design process reflects the activities undertaken in a traditional library, and their similarities – and differences – to activities undertaken in parks. This concept materializes into the built form, primarily focusing on the line that divides what it means to be a park, and what it means to be a library. This line then folds, extrudes, and directs – signifying a library and its realm of urbanity, and a park and it’s dominion within nature. Zachery E. This section of the building served as a fire station garage area. The living quarters of the original fire station, large windows facing to the west bring in evening daylight, but only during summer months.
