BOOKLET
OF INSTRUCTIONS
16
1. WARNINGS
These instructions are integral and essential part of
the product and they are supplied with every chimney.
Read this booklet carefully because it provides important
safety information regarding the installation,
maintenance and safe use of a system chimney.
The installation must be carried out according to local
building regulations, according to the manufacturer’s
instructions and either, by professional suitably qualified
installer, or building regulation approval must be
obtained from the local authority prior to commencement
of the work.
For information regarding the required qualification
please refer to either CORGI, HETAS or OFTEC
regulatory bodies.
The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage
or other losses incurred as a result of the incorrect use
these components. Failure to comply with the installation
and use instructions supplied herein will negate any
warranty either granted or implied by the manufacturer.
The chimney system should be only used only for the
purpose for which it has been designed.
Dispose of the packaging carefully. Polythene can be
dangerous, keep away from children.

3. USEFIELD
EXPOFLEX and EXTRAFLEX systems are suitable for any type of appliance (excluded EXOFLEX system
which is not suitable for condensing appliances and similar appliances) without power restricting and for any
fuel (gas, oil, wood or solid fuel), with negative pressure (class N1 = 40 Pa) for temperatures up to 450°C or
with positive pressure (class P1 = 200 Pa) for temperatures up to 200°C (in this case the use of a special
silicon adaptor: FLEX-KIT is necessary). The next table summarises all just described conditions.

4. INSTALLATION
The manufacturing of the systems EXPOFLEX, FLEXECO, EXTRAFLEX, CORRFLEX is done by mechanical
spiroid junctions which form a smooth or corrugated inner surface.
The flexible liner can be used as a liner to tube a old chimney, small courtyard, technical spaces. The use
as a connecting flue pipe is not foreseen (this means tract which connect the boiler with the chimney). To
avoid any risk of corrosion at the outer side of the flexible pipe it is necessary to remove any rest of soot
inside the existing shaft.
Before the beginning of any component installation, make sure that the product designation, reported on
the component and on the packing, is suitable for the installation.
The flexible pipe has to be insert into the existing shaft from top to ground or the opposite way by pulling
the pipe, the pulling force must be every time less than 50 kg. The direction of the fumes which is indicated
by an arrow on the pipe must be respected. Please fix the flexible pipe at the top together with the inner wall
of the shaft, for example with a centring clamp. Inside the flexible pipe has to be joined with the below
standing accessories.
For a correct installation of the adaptor FLEX KIT please follow the below standing instruction (FIG.1).
FIG. 1 Instructions for the installation of the adapter FLEX KIT.

5. EXAMPLES OF ASSEMBLY SCHEMES
5.1. Assembly scheme for liner working
in positive pressure up to 200 Pa
(Fig. 3)
When the checks described in paragraph 4
are executed, proceed to the chimney
assembly like the following phases:
- to put on the chimney flue’s base a
start plate with lateral draining or a
condense draining element with an
eventual siphon in the case of positive
pressure working, to guarantee the
chimney verticality
- to continue then with an inspection
element, which must be provided of
round stopper with holding basket, for
temperatures till 200 °C
- to continue putting on the linear
elements needed to reach the clutch
level of the smoke canal to chimney
- to insert now the connection T 90°
which allows to connect the smoke
canal to the chimney
- to put the adaptor FLEX KIT among
the rigid elements and the flexible liner
as showed by FIG 1
- to insert the flexible liner till reaching
the needed height, then cut the flexible
liner for example with a knife in
stainless steel
- complete the installation by installing
the FLEX-KIT3 adaptor and fix then
the flexible pipe on top together with
the inner wall of the chimney, for
example by a centring clamp
- at the end install, if necessary, the
terminal (rain cup, anti down-draught
terminal)
- when the assembly operations are
finished, the identification plaque. In
case that the identification plaque
was not delivered or lost we would
like to ask you to ask for the plaque
urgent by contacting our technical

5.3. Assembly scheme for chimneys with direct connection with the boiler
When the checks described in paragraph 4 are executed, proceed to the chimney assembly like the following
phases:
- To put on the boiler’s base an adaptor rigid/flexible for appliance working in negative pressure and
FLEX KIT for appliance working in positive pressure.
- To continue screw the adapter on the flexible liner till reaching the wanted exit level, then cut the
flexible liner with a knife in stainless steel.
- Complete the installation by installing an adaptor flex/female anticondensing for liners working in
negative pressure or the adaptor FLEX-KIT3 for liners working in positive pressure; afterwards fix the
flexible pipe on top together with the inner wall of the chimney, for example by a centring clamp.
- At the end install, if necessary, the terminal (rain cup, anti down-draught terminal).
- When the assembly operations are finished, the identification plaque. In case that the identification
plaque was not delivered or lost we would like to ask you to ask for the plaque urgent by
contacting our technical office provided by the manufacturer must be fixed near the chimney, the
formalities completing are reported in appendix A.
WARNING:
We would like to remember also that, in any case, each installation must comply with standards in force,
and local rules according to the manufacturer instruction and to qualified staff and installed in a very good
manner by a qualified technician as foreseen by the law in force.
6. MAINTENANCE
The maintenance of the metallic chimney is very important to keep the planning conditions and the working
characteristics unchanged in a long time.
It will be necessary execute a planned maintenance, carried out by qualified technicians, in according to a
periodicity determined with users and the responsible person of the chimney according to the specifics of
the norms in forced.
In according to the norm dispositions, we advise to intervene with the following minimum frequency:
- gaseous combustibles once a year
- liquid combustibles every 6 months
- solid combustibles every 3 months
The cleaning of the flue should be done with adequate equipment, according to the law and regulations
dispositions on the subject of security and health of workers into the work places.
According to the ordinary maintenance, to clean the internal walls of the chimney/chimney flue with a sponge
or a plastic brush which are applied to a reel is enough, if it is necessary; iron instruments must be absolutely
avoided.
For this operation, at the base of the chimney flue, a incombustible collect tube must be installed, which
has for entrance a closing metal door.
Opening the inspection door, to enter in the inside of the chimney/chimney flue is possible to do eventual
interventions.
To enter in the inside is possible even removing the chimney top or directly through the eventual terminal
situated on the top.
The rain water and/or condenses must be always correctly disposed by means of the connection of “condense
draining” or base plate for a draining. During the maintenance, we recommend to check the free ebb of
condenses. A good and complete maintenance consists of even a check of the correct joint among the
elements, the caulking’s integrity and the internal wall of the chimney.
7. GUARANTEE
It is excluded any manufacturer’s responsibility or liability, in case of evidence that an un-correct maintenance
has been carried out by qualified technicians.
Expo approves, as qualified technicians, only the technicians associated to national chimney sweeper
organisation, having the participation certificated to specialisation courses.

INSTRUCTION FOR DATA PLATE FILLING OF EXTRAFLEX LINER
The system data plate must be applied next to the chimney, in a visible position.
The plate must be completed by the installer and it must report the following information:
- 1) Chimney designation according to EN 1443 norm (in mm)
- 2) Nominal chimney diameter (in mm)
- 3) Minimum distance from combustible material (in mm)
- 4) Installer data
- 5) Installation’s date
