The Trust was formed from the Leadership of Deyes High following successful collaborative
working and school to school support in the North-West. The Trust currently consists of
Deyes High School, Childwall Sports and Science Academy and a brand new Studio School
opening September 2016.

Our School
Studio@Deyes is a brand new school, opening in September. The Studio will be located in Vortex House,
on Wavertree Technology Park. Students will be aged between14-18 years old and focus on Business and
Technologies.
A small school, with a maximum of 300 students, Studio@Deyes will be a close knit learning community
driven by the belief that all students can realise their full potential. Through our unique CREATE skills
framework, students will acquire key employability and life skills such as communication, confidence,
resourcefulness, self-awareness and flexibility. Given our personalised learning approach and individual
coaching for every student, all students will be known and understood as individuals.
Academic and Vocational pathways will be offered, allowing students access not only to GCSE and A-Level
qualifications but also industry standard qualifications. We will work with high profile local employers to
ensure that all students benefit from the very best work placements. In Project Based Learning, students
will be able to apply what they have learned on their work placement to their studies.
When students leave Studio@Deyes, the qualifications they have attained with us will put them in a
prime position for moving onto University, high quality apprenticeships or employment with training.
‘Growing Future Leaders’ is central to our mission and when our students leave they will be part of the
next generation of skilled business people and entrepreneurs who will drive our local, regional and
national economy across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

Job purpose:

Providing a wide range of support services concerned with the management,
development and maintenance of the Studio@Deyes estate.

Ensuring the School is fully compliant in terms of Health and Safety.

Responsible for the line management of the premises, cleaning and catering
staff.

Transporting students to and from school using the school minibus.
Hours:
Required to be flexible (i.e. working more hours during term time).
Leave:
25 days per annum, plus bank holidays and statutory holidays

Management

To oversee the facilities management of the school including cleaning, site
management and grounds maintenance to ensure delivery to the highest
standard (benchmarked against the contracted requirements, where
appropriate) in order to maintain an outstanding learning and working
environment for students, staff and the community of extended learners.

To oversee the administration of the lettings of the school premises to outside
organisations and staff.

To oversee the implementation of disaster recovery and emergency action
plans.

To carry out administrative tasks relating to the Facilities Management of the
school. e.g. updating spread sheets with work completed, scanning documents
etc.

To ensure all site boundaries are secure and properly maintained.

To arrange the unlocking and locking of the school and the site, whilst
maintaining the security of the school via. key, alarm and gate systems.

To manage any incidents that occur.

To frequently carry out visual checks of classroom furniture to ensure that there
is an adequate supply of furniture, clean carpeting and properly maintained
decor.

To take responsibility for the school's heating system by gaining a thorough
understanding of the boiler system, associated controls and an oversight of preplanned maintenance requirements.

To oversee the distribution of deliveries to the school.

To ensure the timely set-up for exams and special events, as required.

To undertake minor repair and maintenance tasks, as required. e.g. decorating,
and erecting shelves.

To be a nominated key holder and to assist the security company with out of
hours emergencies.

To ensure that the school's maintenance schedule is implemented in a timely
manner to ensure legal compliance.

To liaise with staff in order to provide an efficient and professional service with
regards to maintenance and other requests from colleagues.

To oversee the operational management of facilities management contracts.

To manage the school utility contracts, ensuring meters are read and invoices
are accurate.

To ensure that quotations for goods or services are received and dealt with
promptly and in accordance with the principle of best value.


To manage all aspects of the school's emergency procedures in the event of
fire, flooding, extreme or severe weather, serious security alerts relating to
criminal or terrorist activity or other events requiring evacuation of the
school site.

To ensure that the site chemicals are stored in accordance with COSHH
regulations.

To keep up to date records of, fire alarm testing, emergency lighting testing,
Legionella control procedures (e.g. flushing of outlets) etc.

To check the competence of contractors by verifying qualifications, trade
body registration, insurance cover etc. and maintain the school's list of
approved contractors.

To ensure that the school's vehicles have a valid MOT/ breakdown cover and
to arrange servicing & repair etc.
Responsible for transporting students to and from school using the school
minibus.

