Barnes Commencement Speaker Dr. Robert Barnes is the president of Sheridan House Family Ministries. Since 1968, Sheridan House has positively impacted Broward County, growing from a single house, caring for eight middle school-age boys with behavioral problems to a residential program with five homes, a Counseling Center and a single parent division. The Sheridan House Counseling Center expanded to a second location on the campus of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Dr. Barnes presents seminars and conferences on parenting and marriage. He is the host of a weekly radio program and the author of ten books for families, published in several languages. Some of his best sellers are: Single Parenting, Winning the Heart of your Step-Child, Ready for Responsibility, Rock Solid Marriage, and We Need To Talk. Dr. Barnes has been married to Rosemary Johnson Barnes since 1972. They have two married children, Torrey and Robey, both of whom graduated from Westminster Academy. Dr. Barnes holds a doctorate in counseling from Florida Atlantic University.
