The Blood Center Picnic!
TBC employees, family and friends gathered at Lafreniere Park on Sunday, May 15th for our annual picnic! Attendees enjoyed spicy crawfish,
grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, ice-cold snowballs and a myriad of delicious desserts. The afternoon concluded with the “Soak the Boss” winners pummeling water balloons at their bosses, who took the splashes in
stride. Additional water balloon purchases ramped up the fun and raised
$125 for The Blood Center Foundation!

Keosha Damond Apheresis Specialist
With the continued growth in apheresis collections over the last several years, Keosha
has been instrumental in the daily quality
control and review of all automated collections. She has overseen the increase in
collections by troubleshooting calls from
our donor techs as well as monthly tracking
and oversight of quality control standards.
She works directly with vendors to facilitate
exchange of information and reports that are
critical to achieving collection targets in the
Vista system and apheresis centers.
Keosha has also been a critical team player
and liaison between the Apheresis Department and the Reference Lab throughout
several new initiatives that have impacted
operations of both departments. She has
become the primary contact point in the
department for maintenance and record
review for all quality control topics. Keosha
consistently displays the initiative, dedication,
and work ethic that is the foundation for The
Blood Center’s success.

I have one, you have one.
If you remove the first letter,
a bit remains.
If you remove the second,
bit still remains.
After much trying, you might be able
to remove the third one also,
but it remains.
It dies hard!
What is it?
